I know they're not going to go back to the Jester Race. But that doesn't mean I have to get over it. I'm not complaining that they should go back, I've stopped buying their cd's AND dling promos for a while. But I won't like In Flames again until I hear another Jester Race.
Edit: It sounds like they took Reroute to Remain and Come Clarity and made their kids have kids.
Haven't been a huge In Flames fan in about 8 years. Come Clarity wasn't awful, but after Reroute to Remain I haven't bought an In Flames album since. Still not worse than what Soilwork has become though.

Agreed. Haven't bought anything from In Flames in a long time.
I don't mind new sounds (Come Clarity was pretty good), but this sounds like Alexisonfire. And I never want that to happen:( In Flames is one of my favourite bands, and the only album I don't like is Soundtrack To Your Escape, but all those songs are done well live. If I heard this song on the radio though, I wouldn't be able to tell it's In Flames
In Flames seems to be taking a new direction with each passing cd, while I liked Come clarity I still prefer the older stuff. jester race, colony, and so on. This isn't as bad glad they are getting the guitars back, but anders voice seems pretty bad.
listen to the whole album first. sober and irrelevant is a pretty cool song with the "guitars" Drenched in fear is another song with a bit of the classic in it as well as march to the shore. They are never going to go back to pure melodic and thrash like in colony or clayman. I think the album has almost an even balance between old and new. Come clarity was cool, but they kind of had a split, the first half of the album was alternative for the people for new in flames and then the second half was more towards the old. The new one blends the new and old in most of the songs except the chosen pessimist. That song is one of their softer ones, but it is garbage.
