toucch is being made thinner too with built in speaker

and the classic thick version is being discontinued and the 80gb version is becoming the 120gb (same price)

and the nanos are coming in 8gb and 16gb versions

If my Ipod ever does break or stop being useful, I may look into a Zune.

Wow, another Nano so soon?

It's craziness knowing that I literally bought my 2nd gen Nano a little more than a year ago, and that this one is available soon. I don't think I'll really consider buying this new Nano unless my 2nd gen gives out on me. And even then it's iffy. >_>

Don't they say the iPod has 24 hour battery life every time a new one comes out and they never last that long?

I still like the mini-square one better; this looks like a zune with a wheel.

well you only turn it sideways for video. the rest of the time you hold it like you would a regular iPod

Good, I've been hoping those leaked photos were legit. And it looks like they did learn their lesson from the abomination that was the 3rd gen Nano - interestingly, this one is basically just a second gen Nano with a bigger screen and the click wheel shunted further south to make room for it.

I don't care about the video, though (and four hours of video playback is pathetic), so I'll stick with my second gen one. I'd imagine this new one scratches easier, too. And how in the hell did they not improve battery life for music? Mine gets that and it's two years old. Sheesh.

I guess you hold it on its side? If so, it is awful. If not, it is absolutely terrible.

Not bad prices though, but im guessing this will be the american prices and we in the uk will get ripped off as usual.

I don't like the design, it looks like one of those iPod's you'ld get cheaply in dodgy stores or abroad. :? And for gods sake, we don't need a new iPod! They should be concentrating on getting the iPhone/iTouch up to scratch before they start releasing a new nano.

I actually love what Microsoft is doing. Instead of releasing new versions, they are focusing more on software and firmware updates.

I still have my 30 GB zune, and its great to know I won't have to buy another for the update.l

But I"ll probably get the 120GB before I go to college next year.

Wow they barely changed anything, they downgraded the Ipod Classic to 120 gigs, they changed the screen size of the nano, and they are making you pay 10$ for an Iphone update. How can Apple fans be so blind to this? They are charging for a cell phone update? WHO CHARGES FOR A FREAKING CELL PHONE UPDATE? The zune had an update which gives it tons of new features, but guess what? ITS FREE? Apple fans are so dedicated to Steve Jobs and his Ipods that they call these new models good and some even say revolutionary! Its pathetic that anyone would call this a good update with a straight face. You Apple fans should be ashamed of yourselves, buying "upgraded" Ipods every year, giving Apple more money and more insentive to rip you off. Film-Guy

the 10 dollars for the updates is only if you have an iTouch and havnt updated to 2.0 and you dont need it. for iPhone users its free. and making the classic 120 GB to start is an upgrade

ya i dont get it. i mean if people get upset about iPods coming out every year why arnt they complaining about minor updates in car models every year. i mean every year ford puts out a new mustang with more or less the same features. but nobody complains about that. you dont like the new version dont buy it. nobody is putting a gun to your head

but they are all made for different people. the classics are made for the audiophile, the touch is made for those who want everything wrapped into one, the nanos are for people who dont have a lot of music but still want something small and easy to use. and the shuffle is for people who are constantly moving and only listen to about 100 songs at a time and have no need for anything bigger than that
