Been listening to rap music since 1986 and rap music these days just cant compare, 99% of rap these days is straight garbage. Back int he day it was alot better imo, wasnt as much of a gimmick, was just about music. Now its about whos got hte most swag,etc..

nowadays with music being all autotune or "fake", its hard to find good talent. however i just listen to music that i find to be entertaining, personal preference really.

New rap is good, you just have to listen. I myself love rap from the 80s and 90s as well, but I also like what's coming out today (Currensy, Big KRIT, Wiz Khalifa, Cudi, etc.). Even some old timers have put out good new material. UGK 4 Life!

Agreed, i don't want to hear a rapper talk about his "lollipop" and autotune has gotten way out of hand! I don't listen to any of that garbage. The rap songs all have the same recycled content in every song, all the songs revolve around sex, money, guns, drugs. While older rap had a lot of that content too, they also talked about struggles, society, people, emotions, now a guy can say "superman that ho" and dance around like an idiot and get paid millions and millions. It makes no sense.

I am so tired of people saying today's music is garbage. Just stop with the nostalgia trip.

Rap like this is amazing. And yes, that track was leaked this year. It's fine if you enjoy the music you grew up with, but don't come on here and act like everything else is trash. There were just as many terrible rappers in the 80's and 90's as there is now. This song is worse then anything produced bysoulja boy.

I wish we could transport rappers from today back in time to mid late 80's through early mid 90's and have a rap off. It would be a total joke how bad the old school real hip hop masters would of served these one hit wanna be all about nothing but ho's and clubs punk rappers today.

I think when a lot of people say "new rap", they mean mainstream rap. There are all kinds of underground gems, but the mainstream music is what's the problem.

Older rap had much better meaning. Now days, it is mostly about money, women, and cars. It is annoying to listen to. It is like listening to a complete idiot brag about how rich they are. It's ******* stupid. Of course there is still some decent rap that comes out today, but it is definitely not mainstream.
