Did you watch past the first episode? I hear alot of people stop after seeing that, since it just makes absolutely no sense without a bit of context from the rest of the show.

Also, did you watch it subbed or dubbed? I heard some clips from the English dub and the voice acting really sucks. Not the worst I've heard (lol, Unlimited Blade Works..,) but still pretty bad.

I loved it (watched a.f.k.'s fansubs,) can't wait for Season 2. Starting on Volume 4 of the Light Novels at the moment.

That's not the problem. The problem is that the show has a confused identity, it WANTS to be a comedy. But the plot takes itself very seriously in the background. Frankly, i've had my fill of preachy series and movies.

Not the problem. I don't throw out anime based on how good the sub vs. dub was. I actually thought the Outlaw Star dub was BETTER than the sub.

Ah okay. Well, I'd say that's one of the things I really liked about the series: It constantly transitions between being light-hearted and serious, blending elements from multiple genres together seamlessly.

Not sure how the manga is, but the franchise started as a series of Light Novels (serialized in volumes, still on-going.) The Light Novels (from what I've read of them) are a bit more serious in tone than what you saw in the anime (some scenes in the anime didn't originally exist in the novels,) and you see more detailed character development. I'm really enjoying the Light Novels more than I did the anime.

Unfortunantly, I consider much of the anime out to be utter crap. If you want to get "into" it. I recomend the following...

-Last Exile

-Outlaw Star

-Black Lagoon (1st Season)

If you still like what you are seeing, move up to...

-Azumanga Daioh

-Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex

-Neon Genesis Evangelion

I'd list anime you should avoid like rabies, but the list would take up several pages. So it's better to look for what doesn't suck.

Was always abit skeptical about anime , but finally got around to watching a full amine series ( Gantz ), and enjoyed it immensley.

Any anime fans recommend some good anime.

When you watch Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo everything else looks like ****.

Try Death Note, Bleach, Darker Than Black, Eureka Seven, Trigun, and more Bleach.

I like: Haijme No Ippo, Yu Yu Hakusho, IGPX, Samurai Champloo, Samurai 7, Death Note, The Boondocks, S-Cryed, Basilisk, Dragon Ball Z, Bleach, Naruto up till they need to Sasuke back after all that it just sucks, then go with some Naruto Shippudden, Airgear, Avatar, Gundam Wing, Outlaw Star, Cowboy Bebob.

And what the Gundam show that the main character uses Shining Fingers because watch that to.

go for the classics, try dragon ball z, hopefully u can get an uncut or subbed version because the censored version blows with corny jokes, lack of violence, and a lot of speech has been censoredduh555

Instead of going onto another anime series you should start reading the Gantz Manga.

The gantz anime didn't turn out so well since the story is still going on and they had to make up an ending which alot of people didn't like so they went to the real version of gantz.

Try Calymore. Its very good.

Only 26 episodes as well so not to daunting a task.

Some sweet Anime that are dance around Gantz are Death Note, Great Teacher Onizuka, Tekken (the movie) and S-CRY ed.

It's ok in my opinion. It's funny at many parts. It feels too much like that each episode isn't related to the last one to me, and I prefer more of consistent story throughout.
