So the new Two and a Half Men starring Ashton Kutcher as Charlie Sheens replacement just had its' premeire. What did you think of the show?

I personally thought it had some potential. Although the episode just got a solid base for future episodes. I'm interested to see where it goes.

It was descent, but it won't last. Charlie carried that show and Ashton doesn't have the strength to pick it up.

If the original Two and a half men was able to run as long as it did, I don't see why this one wont last, even if it does suck.

i see two seasons and its done. ashton so far seems opposite of charlie. he likes girls but is scared. doesnt care for drinking. he basically is a rich nerdy character like an older version of jake. i know he will not be like charlies character at all but its still interesting.

So disappointed. I love Ashton Kutcher but I think this is going to be terrible. This is Charlie 2.0 plus Kelso grew up, got some money, and is still an attractive manwhore. I was kind of liking his character at the beginning where he seemed like a sweet, loving person, the he turns around and is Charlie 2.0. Super disappointed.

The funeral was painful to watch, IMHO, but I thought the cameos following it, and Ashton Kutcher introduction was good.

Also, I am not convinced his character is dead, mainly because a)it's always weird whenever a movie or TV show kills a character, but the actor/actress is still alive and b) if the rating go south, they could always pull a Dallas, and have Charlie Sheen return.

Otherwise, for better or worse, the best way to put this episode is that it was still Two and a Half-Men, but without Charlie Sheen (personally, I was quickly reminded why I stopped watching this show).

They should have done something different. It's almost the same character. And we have 8 seasons of that character.

Agreed, I hate it when TV characters get replaced. It destroyed "That 70s Show" big time. Imagine if they did that to "Friends", "Seinfeld", "Sunny in Philadelphia"?

Man, that scene was almost like a personal insult from Lorre. But I thought it was a bit empty without Charlie .... I was watching Season 2 again and man, the best episodes are in all that single season.

Ashton is a great guy and has starred in a couple of films I've enjoyed but it's going to be hard to fill Charlie's shoes. He was the number 1 paid tv actor for a reason. After watching it, I can't say for sure what his character is going to be like in future episodes because in this episode he was depressed for most of it. We'll see I guess.

SPOILERS FOR TVOers

I thought it was funny. Loved the funeral with all the old girlfriends making comments. (And the seedy guy wanting money because Charlie owned him for......... - a really nice shot at Sheen and his drug problem.)

Enjoyed all the cameos too - Stamos - who almost took the role - and Darma and Greg. :D

But the best scene was Ashton at the window with Cryer and the ashes - priceless! Thought I'd bust a gut I laughed so hard.

After that it was a bit of a downer though. I agree that Ashton shouldn't try to be 'another Charlie'. That would get old really fast.

Two seasons? About right I think.

The episode was pretty much what I expected. It was alright, and funny at times. Ashton Kutcher is a cool guy, but it's Charlie Sheen who carried that show.

Sheen and Warner Bros. are in negotiations, and said to be on the verge of a settlement. This means that the whole escapade (drug induced ranting aside) wasn't entirely Sheen's fault, and it's Warner Bros. that were in breach of contract. Alcohol, drugs, whores, or whatever the case, he apparently always showed up to work on time and acted professionally. I'm hoping Charlie returns (they can easily put him back in).

As for the show in its current state, I'm going to give it another chance. I'm sure it will be funny, but it just won't be the same without Sheen, and I know I'm not the only one who feels that way. I enjoyed the Sheen roast on the Comedy Network last night more than the Kutcher premiere.

Pointless. The show has no polarized chemistry anymore. Just Alan and ..some dude (the character, not Kutcher himself)

How could they "Easily" put him back in. they kinda made a huge deal about the fact his character is deaddarkspineslayer

Body never shown to either the viewer or the characters and urn was sent in the mail. Plenty of opportunities here. He could simply be waking up at a unknown hospital, after everyone thought he died right there and then. Perhaps got knowledge of the funeral and decided skip to Las Vegas or Mexico for a few week or months. IDK, I'm not a writer, but they always manage to get characters in a show after they supposedly died.

I think they paid Charlie Sheen to go crazy just to promote the show and he's gonna make a surprising return on the season finale and say that Rose tied him up some where. He's definitely not dead since the coffin was closed and Alan said you couldn't tell it was him.

Sheer curiosity explains this week's ratings. It didn't matter who they got to fill the role, people were just curious to see what they were going to do. The REAL test begins next week.

If you liked the Kelso charatcer from That 70's Show then you should enjoy this new turn for the show. Nothing really happened in the episode. It was basically an introduction for everything to start.

If Aston's just anthoer drunk playboy, this show is dead. Sheen's appeal to me is that he is a drunkin skirt chaser in real life while Kuthers whipped my that Moore Nazi witch.

is not, apparently hes the contrary to charlie. Still the show is terrible.
