Yeah, I love the chariot. I would have to say Botch is probably better then both Norma Jean and The chariot though. They kind of got it all started. Well of course the name doesn't represent the musical talent of the group but I automatically lose respect for them when it's something stupid. chessmaster1989

I'm not that big of a fan of deathcore, but I do like The Chariot. Have you heard of For Today? If not, check out the song "Agape."

Wait you like deathcore vocals but not death metal vocals?

What is this I don't even... :?

No, no chess. See how I said I'm not a big fan of deathcore? Wanna know why? Bettya already know! ;)
Sorry man I can never get the names right! It's so confusing to me! :P Totally dude, I'm up for anything! And will give it a try than I guess. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cpIXKbACSFI Unfortunately, the no longer sound like this album. Very unfortunate, IMO.

PuddinPant

Hey, that was actually pretty good for whatever-core that was! :D

Unfortunately, I still had to say pretty good FOR... but at least it didn't make my ears bleed like iwrestledabearonce and Job for a Cowboy. :P

Wow... I'm speechless. Really?

Sure, what's wrong with that? When it comes to -cores, I've heard MUCH worse than that.

Nope, can't say that I do. :P

I like them, they're just way to much like the rest of the heavy bands right now. A plea for purging, impending doom, all shall perish etc. Check out these two bands. I think you'll like em. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0FYccW2w0E0 and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v8WSoKzhVfY also everytime I die is really good. I'm sure you've heard them before but if you haven't you need to give em a listen.
I was slowly getting into in with the build-up... And then I heard the vocals. Sorry chessmaster. Sorry. :Pbattlefront23

:( you're no fun! :P

My bad, man. My bad. I really like when singer and screaming (or growling ;) ) is alternated. What form of metal has that type of consistent change of vocals?

I don't know of any form of metal like that, but Anaal Nathrakh incorporate clean sung choruses into their songs.

I also don't like hardcore punk, so yeah. :P

I know The Bled. They're ok, IMO. That other band is most definitely Southern, as is Every Time I Die. I'm actually trying to purposefully get into Southern metalcore. But I didn't like the primary vocals of Johnny Truant from what I heard.

Is it the vocals? Riffs? Drumming? Or all together? Usually there's one key area in each genre I don't like.

Well, it used to be a good part the vocals, but now that I'm into death/black metal that's not really an issue. I guess it's just how the parts combine. I've just never found what I've heard of it that interesting. If you want to give me links to some of your favorites (no Attack! Attack! please), I'll give them a try, though.

EDIT: I knew the last two bands you posted and I like them, and the first band had really good vocals. Have we established that I already like Symphonic Metal though?

:P

battlefront23

By last two bands, do you mean Sirenia and Therion? And by first band do you mean After Forever? And if that's the case, what did you think of Haggard?

Yeah, I think we've clearly established that. :P

... but wait a second, in that case this deal is meaningless, I've been listening to crappy Metalcore for nothing!

I just thought I'd post some bands that are a little different from the average hardcore. Sweep, breakdown, sweep so on and so forth. Johnny Truant isn't southern metalcore at all. Everytime I Die definitely is but johnny truant definitely not. That's weird though, I thought you would like their vocals. That's one of the reasons I love them so much.

I've had so many over the past weeks, but the one I've liked most is Broadway. They're a lot like Saosin for those who are interested.

What about you guys?

What a coincidence! I just stumbled across Broadway a couple weeks ago. Pretty good stuff, actually I like it better than the new Saosin album.

I See Stars? Never heard them. But for what my opinion is worth, that ABR song you posted was awesome. I need to get that album. How much of the song did you listen to? They sound nothing like Maylene haha. I mean they're from the UK. Europeans can't make southern metal. That's ridiculous! :P

They were my first link on the last page, the ones with the 8-minute long song that sounds completely CIassical until the singer and guitars come in.

I'll try it in a bit, I'm listening to mariana's trench for the second time, that was surprisingly intricate and I wasn't really paying attention. :P

Think Attack Attack!, but less... auto-tune and more talent. :P I listened to two-thirds of it. I must be crazy then cuz I could've sworn they sounded similar to Maylene to me. :P And ABR in general = awesome.

They're not bad at all, but I don't like them. I would have like a year or 2 ago but I've kind of grown out of that stuff. The screaming kind of reminds me of new Bring Me the Horizon stuff. Insanely high. But cool. I have no idea, but I seriously doubt it. They're pretty obscure. Pirate it! Argh!

The highest I've ever heard was Of Machines. Dude... It's ridiculous. It's like if Craig Owens was an angel. Seriously. They are actually. I was surprised too. lol And my taste has been the reverse of yours actually. I'm liking the softer stuff as of late.

Well, Mariana's Trench is an interesting song. I still think some of the changes feel a bit too forced, they could use some kind of transition between sections instead of just throwing them at you without any warning, but in spite of that the song has definitely grown on me over the past 4 listens. :D

On the other hand, saosin was just awful, all I could think of was "for Pete's sake, STOP WHINING! :x". :P

So, did you listen to Haggard?

Whining? Hmm... I don't really hear whining, but ok. Tom Delonge is a whining voice. He IS the model of the whining voice. Not yet. I've been listening to PuddinPaint's band. But I will get on that now! And I'm glad you liked it! I actually agree that some parts were forced, but the closing 45 seconds I really enjoy, and the same with the beginning 45 seconds. :D

EDIT: I just did. They're good but not really my cup of tea, and I can't get over the fact that I feel like I'm a elf searching for an elven maiden when I listen to any of their songs!

I haven't. To be honest, I really don't like BMTH. Their personalities annoy me, and I don't even think they play that well IMO. Umm... no comment.
No
Well **** me! I just found this awesome metal band named Beltaine. This one is from the Czech Republic not to be mistaken for the Polish band of the same name

Check out Eclipse

What? Come on! It's the perfect Metal/CIassical fusion! What they play is more akin to Baroque CIassical music than to LOTR, they are the one and only Metal Orquestra! :x:cry:

Anyway, THIS is what you would listen to if you were an elf searching for an elven maiden. Get your facts straight! :P

It's too expensive man. Too expensive. Yeah he does. I'm glad they're based in England. Far away from me... :P

Hey, I was just wondering, what do you think of Trail Of Tears?

It might be pushing it a bit too far with the growling, but I just absolutely love them, so I had to try. :P
