I thought the weather man was really good, it was advertised as a goofy comedy when really it was quite a sad film.

I can't really say National Treasure was a bad movie nor that his acting was bad there.

But every actor has a down period and get offers to star in less great movies, actors need money too just like the rest of us.

Those "down periods" are due to actors consistently picking crappy parts and/or their extracurricular behavior. Why else do you think they want Mike Myers' voice and not his physical body? And Cuba Gooding Jr....this close to being "A"-List and then just started doing the stupidest crap. He should give his Oscar back.

National treasure was ok, but Next was terrible. Nothing like the original story at all and it just felt silly. They should have followed the book instead of making a bunch of crap up.

but that can be said about so many people, like even Al Pacino, Matt Damon, Denzel Washington, and so on , all good actors but they just have there thing, which sets there characters apart and what usually makes them good.

I like Cage, Adaptation and Matchstick Men really do show he can definitely act, he just doesnt mind doing action film roles, which I hate him for, but I mean atleast he is willing to try do things, he just needs to stop with the PG 13 films

I think Washington does a good job with his characters.

I think that Al Pacino does a good job of not doing the same roles all the time. The differences between him in Scarface and Godfather were pretty obvious for example.

Something about Nicolas Cage, makes him really entertaining to watch on the bigscreen. He's interesting because hes had flashes of brillance throughout his career, and then other times he's just been so bad it's funny.

He isn't quite up to the ridiculous level of actors like Dennis Quaid.

Cage used to be one of my favorite actors.

It's a bad case of a great career gone south, cough (Jon Voight) cough.

Still no comment on this movie. Cage actually did a good job in this film. Btw: I think that Cage is not the most talented actor. He definitely has family connections in Hollywood. His last name is really Coppola. Francis Ford Coppola is Cage's uncle. I can't believe this hasn't been mentioned either.

Let me answer that question with a question: What was so *good* about it?

They're a series of adventure movies without any adventure...unless your idea of adventure is the fear of assaulting people, weak riddles, and traps that have been done much better. Its "hook" is putting Nicolas Cage in situations where he has to do one absurd thing after another. What is he going to do in NT3? Saw the head off of the Lincoln Monument statue in order to get the map to the Fountain of Youth (the frontrunner for the NT3 "treasure"....life-altering)?

If Disney can push the envelope with the PotC series, then they can with this. Because as it is right now...it's "Indy Lite"

I thought he just sleepwalked from once scene to the other and was propped up by the superb acting of the supporting actor opposite of him at that time. But I will admit that the part where he calls the girl's mom on the cellphone to get her permission to "punish" Eddie was pretty damn good.
