No Country has it all -- a great script, great acting, great dialogue, etc.
I think it's a super enjoyable movie. It's well done. Every actor is flawless. I absolutely love the dialogue...it's SO Coen Bros. and I love it.
I haven't seen the movie yet. I think I'm going to pop There Will Be Blood inblooddemon666
The symbolism allows for a lot of dissection.
But besides that, it's an impeccably crafted, acted, and written masterpiece that easily ranks in the top five in one of the finest years we've had for cinema.
It was a great film, but I can name about six other films that should of won best picture instead.SaintLeonidasThose being?

I liked all the following better then NCFORM:
Michael Clayton
The Lives of Others
Atonement
The Assassination of Jesse James
There Will Be Blood
Eastern Promises
And of those, There Will Be Blood defiantly should of beaten NCFOM for the best pic.

I liked all the following better then NCFORM:
Michael Clayton - Nah. It was well acted by Tom Wilkinson and Tilda Swinton, but this isn't anything original. 6/10
The Lives of Others - This was last year...it was solid, but it suffered from some annoying contrivances. 7/10
Atonement - ZZZZZZZZZZ....had it won, it would've been the next English Patient. That's not a compliment. 5/10
The Assassination of Jesse James - I'll give you this one, though I put it just below NCFOM. 9.5/10
There Will Be Blood - I actually put this just above NCFOM myself. 10/10
Eastern Promises - Superb, but not quite as good as AHOV or indeed NCFOM 9/10
And of those, There Will Be Blood defiantly should of beaten NCFOM for the best pic.
I actually put two films slightly above NCFOM personally: There Will Be Blood and Syndromes and a Century. However, I will gladly accept the decision of NCFOM.Please Log In to post.
