If you have ever served on a jury and had half a brain............
I did, and it was fucking terrifying . I never want to be on trial by jury. NEVER.

What do you mean?
Ridiculous, the Grand Jury system is broken (among other things).
Question, in the Mike Brown case is it possible that there is satellite pictures or video showing what actually happened?
lol, no. Despite popular opinion, there aren't cameras everywhere.
Just a nitpick, a coroner ruling a death a homicide just means that someone else killed the person, it does not mean they were murdered (in the legal sense)
But I would guess a lot of people equate homicide and murder, so it probably helps sell the news, especially in controversial cases. Although this particular case seemed more cut and dry than other recent cases
^^^^In that vein, the choke isn't illegal in New York, it has however been banned from the NYPD.
It is always good to be precise and accurate.
We have a saying where I come from:
"idioma defectuoso, pensamiento defectuoso".

No. Satellites generally don't zoom in far enough to see those kinds of details.
Just asking. I know I can find dated/up close pictures of my house. I have no idea how often snapshots from satellites are taken. I know there is talk of live shots and it just wouldn't surprise me that it's true but the general public doesn't have access to them.

Satellites are.
I live in NYC, this whole situation is disgusting. Atleast charge him with negligent homicide. I mean his actions caused this mans death.
I'm really upset by this.
How do you know this? its pretty clear that the guy is still alive after the chokehold is released and it seems more a case of being the guy with his hand and knee on the guys head that is causing the issue.
But if you have a link to the ME´s report i would love to see it where it says that it was the chokehold itself that led to his death.
It was the chokehold that caused the death and plus compression of the chest the ME confirmed it. Theres a link to an article that states that in the opening post.

Same guy isn't it?
you'd think after being arrested 31 times you'd know not to fight it.
that being said, it seems like something like manslaughter wouldn't be that difficult to charge the cop with.. he clearly didn't intend to kill garner, but his actions resulted in his death.
Arrested 31 times? I'm sure he told the cops this time I dun nuffin as well lol.
With that said, I don't agree with the grand jury decision. If the officer used a move (choke hold) that was against police policy I think it would be reasonable to see it go to trial. Who knows what the entirety of what the grand jury saw though...there was supposed to be 3 other videos and tons of eye witness testimony.
It is fucking ridiculous. I can sort of get why the grand jury didn't charge Wilson (though I still think there was enough conflicting evidence for at least a trial)...but with this case...I just can't comprehend how this grand jury didn't indict. The cop basically snuck up behind an unarmed man, put him in an ILLEGAL (according to the rules of the NYPD) choke hold and didn't let go when the other officers had him restrained on the ground, or even when he was yelling out that he couldn't breathe. Medical examiners concluded that it was death by homicide, with the constriction of the neck as a primary cause of death. I get that the dude was big, but NOTHING he did or was doing justifies that use of force. Worst of all? The freaking guy who video taped the arrest got indicted...but not the cop.
These (excessive use of force) cases are notoriously mishandled by juries. The defense can go through an entire trial repeating, "It is irrelevant whether the defendant was previously committing a crime or not. That is a matter for another trial." and you'll have at least one member saying, "But how do we know he really WASN'T selling cigarettes illegally?" when the deliberation begins. It's extremely difficult for a lot of people to recognize that disconnect.
... Why people even let these organizations run like this.. Why people respect police is beyond me. They clearly haven't earned a shred of it.

To say that police as a whole have never done anything to earn respect is honestly rather ignorant. Generalization at it's finest.

Yeah but the job *attracts* the lazy and the dumb, bullies. Government doesn't want intelligent people with principles in the police force generally. Not to say there aren't people in the force trying their best but it hardly matters in the grand scheme.

It's actually really sad that there's a number of people who share the same views, and a good portion of these people are the ones who continue to lie, exploit others or attempt to resist our actions.
in the end it's all parties involved fault.
the cops apparently have shit training on safe take downs and knowledge about biological factors like capture myopathy and the criminals need to know if your ass is pinched to relax let it go down and get a lawyer.

No, not really. And they're not nearly as good as the movies would have you believe.

I'd say that notion would apply to all national security employees - the lack of principles part, at least.

I'd say you know nothing about national security employees then....
@cartmanbra:
If Garner wasn't breaking the law this wouldn't even be an issue.
Yeah, but u don't deserve to be murdered for a small offense.
