Clearly those Muslims are antagonizing people. It's so offensive and disrespectful to build a mosque there.

In the Nashville suburb of Murfreesboro, opponents of a new Islamic center say they believe the mosque will be more than a place of prayer. They are afraid the 15-acre site that was once farmland will be turned into a terrorist training ground for Muslim militants bent on overthrowing the U.S. government.

Legally, they don't have a leg to stand on.

Logically, they're being hypocritical.

Personally, they embarrass me.

The saddest and most ironic part is the study the article mentions, which is that the construction of structures like this actually prevent radicalization. So, congratulations to the people who are opposing this; you are actively sabotaging your own efforts.

Those who worship in the mosque will do so with the memory of 9/11. It's a whisper against terrorism.

I thought this was even worse than the TC's exerpt

A southern state passing bigoted legislation? Quick, someone alert the press.

Dark_Knight6

I'm going to have to reread the article. I don't recall any legislation being passed (it would quickly be struck down by the courts if it did).

All I recall reading about is misguided people protesting.

Edit: I now see your edited post which makes no mention of legislation. Carry on :P

Wasn't it TN that's senator in running said they should secede? Now I agree with him, they need to stop shaming the USA, when our core foundation is based off of the freedom of religion. Yes, I know its not the whole State that is banning Mosques... but this is crazy.

I'm a little surprised about this. There's already quite a few churches for Muslims and Hindu as well as a ton of Christian churches in and around Nashville. Your topic title is incredibly deceiving though.

There's a comment on there that quotes Winston Churchill talking about Islam. I can't copypasta it here becase it would probably offend someone. But he has a point. And TC, you need to change the thread title, it's misleading. No where in the article does it say Mousqes aren't allowed in Tenn.

Nope. Ground Zero was where practioners of that religon killed nearly 3,000 people and caused untold ammounts of damage in the name of said religion. I mean, they knocked down 2 skyscrapers in the middle of an inhabited city! It's the ultimate expression of disrespect to then build a symbol and engine of that same relgion right where the shadow of the twin towers would be if they were still there.
