Nah... he's a pretty good driver, he just did a few little things wrong. The instructor said she was "having a bad day" and called him on everything, even though he wasn't doing anything wrong. I also know two other kids who said she failed them because they were black and Mexican (this friend is Asian). She almost always passes the white kids on the first try.cowplayinghalo
You seem to have contradicted yourself here. If he's doing things wrong...he deserved to fail. A mistake on the road can be costly....and sometimes to others.

Extend the range of your long range scans, maybe by tying them in to your main deflector dish.xaos
The instructor probably meant that he should increase the frequency of his scans. If they're too far apart, he's effectively blind and could easily run into a Zyl'yan trade ship.

I see people don't realise that every year the tests get harder and harder, some of you could probably fail if you took your test again. ~_~

I've met too many total morons who have driver's licenses to believe that.

Getting a license in Texas is a joke. I drove maybe once before I got my license. I took no courses and barely scanned the little pamphlet.

TM_Darkside
In Finland you have to take 20 theory lessons and 30 driving lessons and that's only for the year long temporary card. To get a permanent license, you have to take the second stage with some more lessons, including a trip to wet track and night time drives (often done in simulators because there simply is no night during summer). The whole thing costs over 1500 euros, so teenagers are happy enough when parents buy you a driving license, not a car. Top Gear does a fun job of explaining it.

In your country then. :P

UK's gets harder and harder each year, the motorcycle test got changed into 2 modules, the first module was manouvers and the second was the road test.

When I passed, I got a minor for being a foot to the right even though I was stationary at the lights, instructor said it was because even though I'm turning left, go near the curb so no cyclists can creep to my left. But that would be giving more room for some car to pull on my right and try push me out, 'cause we have idiots like that on the roads.

Last 2 years or so, a lot of people I knew passed really quickly, now I hear of other people failing for really insane reasons, like I said my friend was failed for not using the bus lane even though he was doing no harm, that wouldn't of happened a few years ago.

I think the reason the UK's gets more strict is because of the amount of teenage drivers passing and causing most accidents because they're wreckless.

this is why i did the homeschooled version of drivers ed, for some strange reason if you are homeschooled you only take the written, not the actual driving test. i never stepped foot behind the wheel untill i had a full licensed, homeschool ftw!

Why would anyone care about the driving exam in Norway, aside from Norwegians? You'll probably answer, "Why would anyone care about the driving exam in the US, aside from Americans?" But that's the thing. Most of the people here live in the US.

I should have added a ":P" at the end of my post. I wonder though, does the TC live in US. And since you believe he shouldn't be behind the wheels... I know many here(norway) who takes their second last year of school in US. And also get the driver's license there. Yet they have to take the actual driving test here too before they are giving a license here. And the rules for driving are pretty much the same everywhere.

Talk about a bad instructor. I remember mine. Whenever I was trying to stop at a stop sign, red light, etc...he would constantly say. "Stop...Stop...STOP...STOP!!!" I swear, atleast half the times he said that I was already stopped. After the test, I never heard from him again. He still works at the same place too.

Never knew so many people didn't pass the first time.....anyway, if you don't check for traffic that is a quick fail. It causes accidents when not completing a test.LJS9502_basic
No the thing is I was checking...thats why I failed the first time, so I made extra sure to have them notice what I was already doing.

Haha, I knicked a pole on 90 degree back in and still passed (then again, the cone with the pole in it was off because the person before me hit it and the lady wouldn't let me fix it).

Do yourself a favor go to a different testing center. I took min in Brooklyn and had some old **** that failed me on bull... I retook the test without any practice and did worst the 2nd time and passed in with a different instructor at a different testing center in Staten Island NY. Some places are very strict for no reason at all. When I had passed I did worst than when I failed.

When they refer to scanning, it's usually refering to how you 'scan' intersections. Making sure everyone stops, looking for pedestrians, etc. It isn't your blindspot because that has its own category.
