There's a difference between me randomly making a comment based on my opinion, and the mayor of the biggest city in the US publicly inciting police officers who are sworn to protect private citizens to neglect their duty of defending the public because he doesn't like part of the US Constitution. BIG difference.

I won't take the headline at face value or assume he actually asked civil servants to stop protecting people for this crap, but if its true then that's just moronic.

But that said, this sort of issue tends to attract various amounts of bias in media either for or against it, so this could be trying to take something he said out of context, or maybe he really did say that.

Pretty much. As much as I love living in NYC, I find it insulting to think the government knows what's best for me and therefore should tell me what to eat and drink.
