http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2012/jul/31/illegals-released-feds-19-murders-142-sex-crimes/

19 people lost their lives and 142 people got violated because of the actions of the Obama administration.

The Obama administration could have prevented these senseless crimes by enforcing our immigration laws, said committee Chairman Lamar Smith, Texas Republican. But President Obama continues to further his anti-enforcement agenda while innocent Americans suffer the consequences. His unwillingness to enforce immigration laws puts our communities at risk and costs American lives.

Cherry picking articles that condemn Obama. I'm not surprised. This isn't unique to this president. All presidents and leaders do things like this.

Relevant from the article you posted:

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the agency responsible for deportations, said many of those identified by Secure Communities and detailed in the report either werent eligible to be deported or were released by local officials before ICE could respond.

Spokeswoman Barbara Gonzalez said that given limited resources, they have to pick and choose which aliens they go after.

Because ICE is congressionally funded to remove a limited number of individuals each year, the agency prioritizes our enforcement efforts on individuals whose removal has the biggest impact on public safety, including immigrants convicted of crimes, violent criminals, felons, and repeat immigration law offenders, she said.

The Obama administration has set records for deportations, removing about 400,000 aliens a year. But it has dramatically altered the composition of those being deported, shifting attention away from rank-and-file illegal immigrants and toward those who already have criminal records or who have repeatedly broken immigration laws.

Are you trying to rationalize an extremely obvious wrong? Any president that does/did this should be called out on it. Just because it's not unique to the Obama administration does not make it less wrong.

It's great news that his administration is making strides, that doesn't change the 19 people killed or 142 people violated, however.

So why are you blaming the Obama administration for things that, 1) they've been taking steps to prevent, and; 2) were largely beyond their control?

They've taken steps to prevent problems like this, which is great, but it won't change history. And what makes you think this was "largely beyond their control"? The fact of the matter is, tougher Republican style immigration laws would have helped tremendously.

"weren't eligible to be deported" -- who says who gets deported or not? the federal govt. They should make stricter laws on this issue.

"released by local officials" -- fair point, but that still doesn't mean that they shouldn't have created stricter laws.

Unlike legal immigrants, illegal immigrants often do not have education and don't speak English, the language this nation was founded one. It's much harder for them to integrate than a legal immigrant because of things like this.

[QUOTE="jimkabrhel"]Cherry picking articles that condemn Obama. I'm not surprised. This isn't unique to this president. All presidents and leaders do things like this. kingkong0124

Are you trying to rationalize an extremely obvious wrong? Any president that does/did this should be called out on it. Just because it's not unique to the Obama administration does not make it less wrong.

I'm not condoning what happened. I'm trying to make a point that every administration has to make such decisions, so it's pointless to suggest it's just the Obama administration is the only one. If you want to get angry, properly angry, accuse every leader and politician who is responsible. Don't place the blame on a man who isn't personally making the decision.

That goes very much against the idea of a democracy. I dont understand how anyone would think its a good idea to have a nation-state.

....... nation states and democracy are not mutually exclusive.

[QUOTE="Nibroc420"][QUOTE="kingkong0124"] I'm not in a position of power sadly. And I don't think the government will listen to me protesting, sadly. kingkong0124

You have money, or the ability to obtain it. You chose not to, just as you chose to do nothing.

I'm not part of the government. I don't regulate this stuff. Obama's administration released these criminals directly, so in a way it is their action that caused their tragedy. You're a troll, and from now on I'm going to ignore you.

I'm the Troll? First it's Obama's fault. Then it's "because of the actions of the Obama administration." (as you say) Then you claim it's "their non-action caused this tragedy" I'm Glad the Obama administration's ability to actively participate in non-action, was able to have an effect on something

[QUOTE="lx_theo"][QUOTE="kingkong0124"] No. That's completely different, however. kingkong0124

Not when it comes to "stricter laws will prevent stuff like this from happening."

Do you think an illegal will cross the border more easily if we have more people protecting the border?

Do you think that more people would be able to as easily obtain and kill with guns if we had a more difficult system of acquiring guns? It really doesn't matter what I think. When you set a standard of human nature like you did there (In how people react to less accessibility), it applies to every situation in which it is relevant. Both of these are simply methods of making things more difficult for people to go through with it. Does that actually make a difference in whether they'll do it? I'm not an expert enough on it to say. But you can't just go and pick and choose which policies these apply to because they appeal more to you.

I never said the Obama adminstration is the only one. I just thought that this is an important story to post about. I didn't place the blame on Obama himself, rather the "Obama administration".

The root cause of the illegal alien problem is Obama not enforcing stricter immigration laws. In this specific case, Obama's administration specifically released these criminals.

I didn't say it was. I said it goes against the idea.

If a democracy is supposed to allow all of its citizens equal say, then a nation-state by definition is "ethnically pure" and others not of that ethnicity would have less say.

How in the hell do you think this is a good idea?
