Obama calling Kayne West a "jackass" was very foolish on his part.

Hey, what are you gonna do? The man speaks the truth.

mrbojangles25

pretty much

not only does he speak the truth, but he speaks well for the people

im sure everyone watching Kanye that night facepalmed and went "Jackass..."

its nice to know we dont have a prude in office, either

I agree, What's funny is if he said any less he would be declared as "soft on blacks" or something along those lines, as for many people Obama can do no right.

[QUOTE="Sharkep"]I didn't see what Kayne West did, but I certainly heard about it. Obama calling Kayne West a jackass for what he did is probably worse than that KW did. KW is notorious for having a massive ego. Obama is a president, and his comment makes him look unprofessional, regardless of whether or not you agree with him. A president should not be calling out fellow Americans like that. It sets a bad example. Plus, on a Yahoo user-poll, over 50 percent of Americans stated they were unsatisfied with Obama's presidency so far. What does that say about him?

i agree, that was very un-presidential of obama, but hey bush wouldve said the samething, but let alone and let live thats what people need to do.

a President can't state his opinions in an off-the-record, informal interview?

Come on, The Preisdent can't be expected to be polite and formal all the time away from the microphone.

And yes, I agree with him.

Nah, Obama was right to call Kanye a jackass. It is the most truthful thing to fall from a politician's mouth for years.

Samwel_X
agreed. he was being really stupid and obama just pointed it out.

I'd give him an extra 50 points in approval rating. Of course, I'd reduce that then by the end of the month

Ok, so let me just put this down eventhough i am not sure if it has been mentioned before (to many posts to read). The president practicly insulted Kanye, which is mainly something he shouldn't have done regarding the previous episode involving his college professor. He had to apologize to the professors local police staff etc., which is probably something he wishes to do now to Kanye also...i don't think that makes up for a good role model not to mention a (theoretically speaking) world leader. He shouldn't apologize because it would then appear that he has a habit of throwing out words about anything. As for Kanye apologizing....i would rather seem like a gayfish, rather than go get my lap tapped by Leno on national television.

But......his opinions often lead him to an awkward apologizing session.

those 50% of people were probably the "jackass's" that oppose giving the poor a chance at health care.. :p

first of all nobody is really sure he said it. Second of all it was supposed to stay out of the press if he said it at all third who cares? and fourth that poll has nothing to do with your orignal argument.

Personally, I like hearing the President talking candidly and acting like a real person. Kayne West was a jackass. Kayne West even admitted it. The President does not have to act professionally at all times, besides, I didn't find his comments unprofessional at all. I say good for Obama.

They have an audio recording of him saying it. I'd say that's pretty sure.

Either way, it was off the record, he's free to express his opinions in ways that don't affect his job. The media just fumbled this one by leaking it.

He's a human being. He has opinions of his own too. Get over it :roll:Maniacc1
I think it is the best thing that a president has done in years. It shows that he is an average guy...how ever he saw this being his 2 girls were watching the VMA's, heard it on the news...or even watching himself, it makes him seem just like all of us who had something to say something the morning after...
