Obama has no substance.

I do not understand why people love this man so much, and why he happens to be a frontrunner in this campaign. Certainly, it is true, he is a very palatable and handsome figure (especially to young people like myself) but I feel that his campaign is based on mere flash, but no substance. He has no concrete plan for this country, except to bring about "change". What change? Changing your job from "Senator of Illinois" to "President of the United States", maybe? What else?

And his credentials are not very impressive either. Yeah, sure, he's been in the Illinois legislature and is even a senator in Congress, but considering that there have been people with even more substanial credentials who have dropped out of the race (Bill Richardson comes to mind here), I find it amazing that he managed to BS his way through completely so far, running on a campaign based on lofty things such as "hope" and "change". He should have been defeated a long time ago.

But despite this, I still hope this man will be nominated as the Democratic candidate. Hilary Clinton is a far greater threat than he is.

Yes, we do. It's just that people like the OP are sometimes too flaky to actually listen to the man. They just hear how the media drools over how well spoken he is and act like he must not have a real message. He's never backed down from a policy question yet. If people would take 20 minutes out and educate themselves or watch some of the democratic debates, their questions would be answered. Again:

The reality is that Clinton is far more devisive than Obama. If Hillary wins the nomination, the republicans will come out in record numbers just to keep "The Clintons" out of office again. Besides that, she strikes me as a sleezy politician and opportunist who seems to believe her own hype and seems to not think her **** stinks. A person that moved to NY not for the PEOPLE of NY, but in order to advance her political objectives.

The Federal Reserve? - Personally, I'm not sure.

The failed drug war? - He believes more attention needs to be shifted towards treatment, as I recall. Less on harsh punishmens of first-time drug offenders. He's also all about more anti-drug education and community support to keep people off drugs in the first place.

Immigration? - That a great amount of reform is necessary. Border security *must* be enhanced and improved. That illegals should have a pathway to citizenship, as they're obviously not going back to where they came from, and it would cripple our economy anyway.

Almost everybody believes that have to have some sort of virtual wall across our borders that will limit the enormous influx, thousands of people, who are coming through places like Arizona with impunity every day, often at great risk to themselves. I'm glad someone is going the great length needed to defend Obama, most people see him for a few minutes on the news and say oh he looks good and is an articulate speaker so he must be a con or he must use this to cover up the fact that he has no experience, but thats not true at all they're just not willing to go any deeper into learning about him.

Obama is very ugly and politics are repulsive and disgusting.

Of course, if you're voting based on experience, we'd all be voting for Fred Thompson. experience is only part of what must be considered. experience doesn't guarantee good future decisions. at best, it only predicts the odds of how often someone will make BAD decisions.

sometimes less experience (exposure) to Washington D.C. is a very good thing.

THATS a bandwagon I'm getting tired of. People hear his drug and foriegn policy and immediately sign up, not realizing under the surface he's still a religious conservative, meaning no abortions and gays are teh evil (along with fiscal policies that literally scare me).

I admire the man's integrity (somewhat), but I don't think I'd ever vote for him.
