so on the daily show just now they showed a clip from fox news, the anchor upset that obama hasn't been to church since he took office ( 11 weeks)... does anyone really care? seriously fox news tries to kick up dirt over everything.

The more he's out of church and focusing on his presidency, the better. Plus, I think deep inside Obama has a lot of doubt about Christianity and God.

I'm sure not every President was crazy about church or religion in general.

Thing is, no one is going to vote an athiest into office. Gotta be christian.

honestly i think he's athiest.. and id love it if he came out with it. we need to move away from a religious nation.. the fact that some people got soo upset when he said " we are not a christian nation" is rediculous... you can be whatever religion you want.. but dont force it upon anyone else, and why would you need our nation to be the same as yours? /headdesk, i dont even want to visit the mid/ southern united states... but thats over generalizing.

Yeah, probably not.

I would say having a President with no religious beliefs would be ten times the accomplishment of having a black person or a woman for President.

With all do respect you are doing the same thing. Seriously what are you attacking them over and in what context? I won't comment on what she said because I refuse to blindly attack fox news, which is better than the left gives them credit for. Much better than MSNBC thats for sure.

Pardon me? Conservatives are in no way doing what you claim, how much do you really know about conservatism? What you just did is a massive generalization of a whole group of people, I am willing to bet alot of scientists ARE conservatives. Conservatism is no one thing and is not holding us back. Not all conservatives are religious either, I am rather conservative AND agnostic and support stem cell research. So you can see why i would be bothered by your statement.

Some people take things too seriously or tend to blow it WAY out of proportion. Then again it is Fox.

Socialist doesn't equal Left wing. As I said before conservative is a broad term and one can be both conservative and socialist as socialist is more economic anyway.

Wow! I haven't been to church in 19 years! And yeah, I'm 19. Why should the president have to be such a focused Christian? We elected him as a decision-maker, not a theist, right?

So what? He's the President, not a priest. I'd be worried if he put too much emphasis on visiting church rather than actually running the country.

you can never be too busy to take 1 hour out of your day for God. Yeah he's president but he's also a human being, he has to take time out of his day for his relationship with his family and he should do the same with his relationship with Jesus Christ.

If Jesus is so concerned about my relationship with him, he can stop by my place and visit.

...Of course, if someone stops by my home claiming to be Jesus Christ, I'm probably going to call the police, so maybe not.

Yeah it's stupid that this makes the news... People who think that his Christian morals are important should realise that he isn't going to lose those by not going to church... It's not like a top-up card or anything.
