The kind of government that takes away our guns is the government we definetly don't want.

He is the worst presidential candidate this country has ever seen.

He has absolutely no experience and has radical political views.

I cannot believe that people would trust Obama in a time like this.

bungie93

Because when we elected our current "leader", his expierience had been getting drunk and ditching millitary service, running the Texas Rangers into the ground, and being a governor. And people with the logic/intelligence of bungie 93 here elected him twice. Anyone besides Bush would be a relief (besides McCain, who, while slightly smarter than Bush, is also more of a warmonger.

Obama is at least an intelligent person, and has senate expierience. While this doesn't qualify him outright, most of his ideas are sound. While not perfect, he's a much better candidate than McCain. Plus, if he gets a good VP pick with millitary or foreign relations expierience, he'll win in a landslide come November.

Last thing, the pic shown in the first post is utter BS. Incredibly biased, plus, Obama can't just get rid of all that by himself, he needs Senate/Congressional approval. It's funny how many conservatives are scared of this guy. "OMG HE'S A MUSLIM SLEEPER CELL! NOES!"(seriously the stupidest thing I have ever heard) or " "OMG HE'S SO ELITIST AND HATES THE COMMON MAN!". Give me a break.

Oh and I'll sprinkle some fact in to this thread. Here's Obama getting questioned on gun control, which pretty much makes this whole thread a collection of ignorant people.

Q: When you were in the state senate, you talked about licensing and registering gun owners. Would you do that as president?

A: I don't think that we can get that done. But what we can do is to provide just some common-sense enforcement. The efforts by law enforcement to obtain the information required to trace back guns that have been used in crimes to unscrupulous gun dealers. As president, I intend to make it happen. We essentially have two realities, when it comes to guns, in this country. You've got the tradition of lawful gun ownership. It is very important for many Americans to be able to hunt, fish, take their kids out, teach them how to shoot. Then you've got the reality of 34 Chicago public school students who get shot down on the streets of Chicago. We can reconcile those two realities by making sure the Second Amendment is respected and that people are able to lawfully own guns, but that we also start cracking down on the kinds of abuses of firearms that we see on the streets.

Q: You said recently, "I have no intention of taking away folks' guns." But you support the D.C. handgun ban, and you've said that it's constitutional. How do you reconcile those two positions?

A: Because I think we have two conflicting traditions in this country. I think it's important for us to recognize that we've got a tradition of handgun ownership and gun ownership generally. And a lot of law-abiding citizens use it for hunting, for sportsmanship, and for protecting their families. We also have a violence on the streets that is the result of illegal handgun usage. And so I think there is nothing wrong with a community saying we are going to take those illegal handguns off the streets. And cracking down on the various loopholes that exist in terms of background checks for children, the mentally ill. We can have reasonable, thoughtful gun control measure that I think respect the Second Amendment and people's traditions.

Obama was being misleading when he denied that his handwriting had been on a document endorsing a state ban on the sale and possession of handguns in Illinois. Obama responded, "No, my writing wasn't on that particular questionnaire. As I said, I have never favored an all-out ban on handguns."

Obama's campaign said, "Sen. Obama didn't fill out these state Senate questionnaires--a staffer did--and there are several answers that didn't reflect his views then or now. He may have jotted some notes on the front page of the questionnaire, but some answers didn't reflect his views."

Gotta love the abolition of rights. Although, if he supported gun restrictions (not complete banning) then he'd be a little more pleasant.

The odd thing is that yall say Bush was horrible because he lacked experience, yet yall are about to elect Obama who also has no experience, all the while, acting like McCain's experience means nothing. Kinda ironic if you ask me. You bring up the fact that Bush was an alcoholic, yet you fail to mention that Obama use to smoke weed and experiment with other drugs. So there is another thing those two have in common.

You say Obama has Senate experience. Wow a whole 2 1/2 years worth in the US Senate. And most of that has amounted to completely nothing because he has been running for President. He has not stayed in one place long enough (Illinois State Senate and US Senate) to have been able to help the people who got him elected because he seems to want to better himself than the people who elected him. Now you have McCain who has 20 years worth of experience in Congress, but of course, yall say that's bad because we need someone new to Washington.

And you say Obama can't just get rid of all the guns by himself, and that he needs Congress's approval, well you do know that both the House and Senate are majority Democratic, so he will be able to get a lot of laws passed whether we like them or not.

And before someone makes the notion that Obama wants to become President so he can "save us all from impending doom", Henry Louis Mencken says it best. "The urge to save humanity is almost always a false front for the urge to rule." I mean you all want to think that he is some kind of savior, but he is indeed a politician like all others who only crave power. IMO, all politicians are like lawyers. Help themselves first, then the people second, and it should be the opposite of that.

Not to mention that Bush's BIG Campaign slogan was "CHANGE" but no one remembers that, they just are so amazed that Obama is promising that, remember how bad it is because our president promised change. and Obama is doing the same thing.

I remember that. Not only was he going to bring the O so needed "CHANGE", but after he won, he said he was going to unite the two parties and our country.

Lets recap.
1. Bush was an alcoholic, and Obama smoke weed and experimented with other drugs.
2. Bush lacked experience, and what do you know, so does Obama.
3. They both promised "CHANGE" and unity.

From looking at that, Obama=Bush. :o

All actions have an equal and opposite reaction.

Obama = Democratic version of Bush.

Laws of Physics: 1. Obama: 0.
