[QUOTE="SaintLeonidas"][QUOTE="FragStains"]I don't understand what the problem is with him officially releasing the document. It isn't that hard. If someone asked me to prove my citizenship, I'd just show them my birth certificate. What is the reason for Obama not releasing officially? Has he given one?
I doubt it is going to be a problem...but seriously, just release it.
FragStains
he already has given his out, multiple fact checks have found it to be a real copy of his birth certificate. But off course people like mysterylobster are so blinded by their bias they dont believe it was real, the whole arguement is a joke.
So Obama himself has shown the physical original document to media and the citizens? He has released a copy of his birth certificate, whether or not it was the original given at birth makes no difference, one being the fact that many people dont have their original copies, and two it was verified as a legit copy of his birth certificate, all "evidence" that it was fake have been disproven. He has nothing to hide and he already did what the conservatives called him out to do and he released the copy, but of course some idiotic conservatives, upset that they were proved wrong and shocked that Obama and did release the document wasted no time in calling it fake. Like I said this argument is ridiculous and further proof that people are willing to do/say anything to smear the opposing candidate. Any right minded person shouldnt fall for this BS.

So Obama himself has shown the physical original document to media and the citizens? As long as the relevant authorities have seen it and confirmed that he can infact become president, why should the media and citizens see it? Have you seen McCains? I hear he was born in panama.[QUOTE="fbigent34"]give it up obama and mccain are both us cititzen enough is enough

You might want to compare this document with the one posted earlier. See any differences? The electronic version was altered.

btw you know where i got this from GOOGLE IMAGE SO IF YOU WANT TO BELIEVE THIS MORE HERE FINE. but this was not on an officail site.
I don't even get why it's a problem if he was born outside of America, you would try to deny democracy just because he may have spent the first few months of his life outside of America? He has overwhelming support, the majority of Americans want him as the next president, get over it.

I want to make this clear: Mysterylobster does not represent the whole of the McCain campaign. McCain is more focused on the issues than undercutting Obama's citizenship.
Debate the facts Lobster, stop making us McCain supporters look bad.

Have you seen McCains? I hear he was born in panama. Why do you assume I care about McCain's eligibility? Just because someone raises questions about a candidate, doesn't mean the support the other. To your question: Yes, I think the citizens should be able to see the document. No one trusts politicians and the government, except in this case? I would think all candidates should have to release to the public the documents that allow them to be eligible to be President

Birth Certificates: Making Americans un-American since... forever :P
don't you think the clintons would have exposed this a LONG time ago if it were true. hillary wanted the white house waaay more than anyone else. if there was an issue it would have already come out. find a new attack angle please. this one is tired and pathetic.
Oh for **** sake mystery lobster if you're going to attack obama then at least have a good argument...Isbrealiompie
I'm not sure but I think he abandoned those (if there were any) quite a while ago. It's entered the area of sad at this point.
It is not looking good for McCain and even he doesn't bother to raise these issues, although I'm sure that means he must be in on it some way... :P

Why is he making McCain supporters look bad? He is simply bringing up a argument that has gone on for a while. It's the same as democrats bringing up McCain's eligibility.
To me, this whole argument makes me feel that the whole "must be born an American citizen" requirement for the presidency ought to be finally thrown out than it makes me feel anything about Barack Obama. :P
This is nothing but Obama detractors trying to do anything and everything they can to keep him out of the White House even in the face of the country obviously wanting him there. Yay, democracy.

And what Dem has done that?
No it shouldn't be thrown out. And it remains to be seen if the country wants him there. To me, this whole argument makes me feel that the whole "must be born an American citizen" requirement for the presidency ought to be finally thrown out than it makes me feel anything about Barack Obama. :P

The extra-stupid thing is that the child of a USA citizen is a USA citizen, regardless of where birth took place.xaos
then show me a valid copy of his mom's birth certificate, dammit!

Since 1986 that's the case; I haven't been able to find the law regarding a person born abroad to one US citizen when Obama was born, though (or was his dad a US citizen?).

Ah, I was unaware that that was a change; I'd think it would have to be the case, though, otherwise kids born on US bases abroad would have to be naturalized, right?Ah, I was unaware that that was a change; I'd think it would have to be the case, though, otherwise kids born on US bases abroad would have to be naturalized, right?xaos
If you're born on a US base, I think that's considered American soil, and as such is considered the same as someone born within the 50 states.

I have like, three different birth certificates. It's real fun to take those to the DPS to get my license changed...

Apparently, that depends on the Status of Forces Agreement with the country where the base is located. I chose bases rather than embassies, since I know that those are sovereign, but I guess host countries aren't always eager to cede territory to a foreign military force :) In any event, I still don't have a hard and fast answer. Maybe a less complicated answer could be found by checking the status of the children of ex-pats born prior to '86; so complicated![QUOTE="LosDaddie"]And what Dem has done that?GabuEx
It's come up in the past; John McCain was born in Panama.
I care as little about that as I do about this, however.
Same here.
And honestly, the only time I see someone bring up MAC "eligibility" is in response to some neo-con (like ML) questioning Obama's citizenship.
