The legalization of pot is going to be a long battle. Â The government has billion of dollars invested in enforcement of marijuana laws with agents around the globe. Â There would literally be thousands of law enforcement and correctional officers out of work if marijuana was legalized. Â Money over morality. Â Business as usual in the USA.

Ummm, Obama is behind the increase in enforcement over the last several years. Â In fact, he broke a campaign promise to do so. Â These sorts of political moves involving state vs. federal law are almost always approved by the administration. Â No federal agency would take a stance on this issue if it went against the administration and would most certainly seek approval before such a high profile operation would be carried out.Yes, President Obama is personally involved in EVERY SINGLE act of the Federal government. FFS people get a grip. Blame the Feds if you want, but don't keep invoking the President every time. It's really petty, like him or hate him.

From the article:Â
Forbes
Despite promises to the contrary on the campaign trail, the Obama administration has announced an escalation in its war on legal medical marijuana dispensaries in California and elsewhere. Federal prosecutors have sent letters to landlords and owners of dispensaries across California warning them to halt sales of marijuana within 45 days or face property seizures and other legal backlash, though some raids have already commenced.
In a press conference today, the four US Attorneys in California announced they would begin prosecuting operations across California in earnest, going much further than the Bush administration in cracking down on legal medical marijuana.

A HALLUCINOGENis a drug that induces HALLUCINATIONS. Even after clearing that up, your post is still utter nonsense. Marijuana does NOT induce hallucinations, not unless combined with another drug like acid or mushrooms, in which case it can accentuate the visuals. How do I know this, you ask? Personal experience. Don't believe everything you read online kiddos.Â

If your politicians were not so deep in the pockets of corporations as they sort of were the 30s when they realized prohibition was failing and used elementary logic to legalize alcohol so Al Copogne's friends could stop making a killing selling bootleg alcohol, then maybe the same could happen now with a drug that is much less harmful.Â
Regardless of whether you agree with it or not, Federal law still says pot is illegal. Personally I don't think we should be using resources going after weed but the feds still have the legal right to do so. Maybe some of the people who want it legal across the US need to pool their resources to send a team of lawyers to Washington to challenge the laws instead of simply complaining on the net.ad1x2
^This.
I live in Seattle, and it happens all the time around here actually. It typically has nothing to do with marijuana being federally illegal. It has to do with dispensaries operating outside the bounds of Washington state law. Don't think that this is an act of federal agents running around and locking up random dispensaries because marijuana is federally illegal. It doesn't work that way. Ever wonder why states are allowed to pass laws that are federally illegal?
[QUOTE="Rich3232"]What a fvcking joke. Fvck the DEA. Pieces of shit. wolverine4262This. Who else is going to shut down dispensaries that are operating illegally by state law? Do you really think all the dispensaries follow the rules? They don't.

The ignorance on these matters is ridiculous.

Ah this makes much more sense. So basically the state tells the feds that they're breaking the rules and they go stop it? Definitely makes more sense than what some of the other people are suggesting with the Feds just having sticks up their asses. But at the same time they technically have the right to do so based on Federal law.[QUOTE="KHAndAnime"]

Lolz@this. Of course I believe in medical sciences. Hell, that's my major/future career. I STUDY the medical sciences (well, Pre-Med to be exact, but eh). :P I also realize, however, that citing outdated and notably biased government studies that, as some other users have indicated, drew their conclusions first and their data second is not necessarily the best argument against choosing to smoke.Â
I also realize that it varies on a user to user basis. You are, I concede, correct in stating that it can exacerbate paranoia or anxiety in certain users. However, such is usually the result of pre-existing conditions that are merely accentuated by the drug, not created by the drug in and of itself. As far as out and out hallucinations? Please. Losing touch with reality? Even that is overstating its effects. It certainly alters your state of mind, although this is to be expected. Why smoke (barring using it as a medicine - bet you never researched that, did you kiddo? ;) ) if not to do just that? I'm sorry to put it bluntly but you need to get your facts straight.
PS. I don't care about your low testosterone; that's a completely different compound and has no bearing on this discussion whatsoever.

Truth my brother. The world would be a better place if everyone would sit down, smoke a bowl, and chillax every once in a while. I know there's nothing more satisfying after a long day of studying or busting my ass at work. Crack a brew, blaze a joint... that's the good life right there. :)

Hallucinating on weed? What? Just makes you stay put and fall asleep if you oversmoke... now .. LSD on the other hand.. That shit will make you hallucinate. But again, Fightingfan missed my point. Numerous studies have shown a higher rate of social problems, overdoses, and crime are all associated with alcohol use. If we, as a society, are going to accept the dangers with alcohol and tobacco, we should also be willing to accept the dangers associated with marijuana, LSD, psilocybin mushrooms, and any other drugs that are currently illegal. People who do drugs are going to do drugs, regardless of what people tell them or its legal state. There should be government regulation, and taxation on these things so the money is funnelled into building schools and roads as opposed to staying in the pockets of a polarized group of thugs and drug lords. There is NO good that comes from keeping these drugs illegal. No good at all. Please Log In to post.
