I didn't watch it, but I heard it was spectacular. It must be if they spent $30 Million on it, right?

This example of extravagant spending should serve as a reminder of what Obama promised last November, a promise he's reneged on:

"One year ago, he made a promise. He pledged to accept public financing and to work with the Republican nominee to ensure that they both operated within those limits.

Then it became clear to Sen. Obama and his campaign that he was going to be able to raise on his own far more cash than he would get with public financing. So Obama went back on his word.

He broke his promise and he explained it by arguing that the system is broken and that Republicans know how to work the system to their advantage. He argued he would need all that cash to fight the ruthless attacks of 527s, those independent groups like the Swift Boat Veterans. It's funny though, those attacks never really materialized."

You sure are a tenacious little go-getter, aren't you?

I have seen nothing but smear topics from you...Why not show some pride in the candidate you choose rather than try to show up the candidate you don't like?

I don't have a candidate. I'm voting libertarian this year, but only because McCain is the last Republican I want running for office.

My only wish this election is to keep Obama out of the White House.

It's been McCain's tactic all along and it ended up costing him my vote. While he was touting the "evils" of Obama, Obama was talking about what matters...His stance on issues and what he plans to do. I couldn't tell you a single thing that McCain wants to do as president.

I think this needs to get pointed out. While MysteryLobster makes some bad judgements on what to post, I think this is a good thing to show. Obama was all for public financing until he figured out he could raise a lot more money privately.

Just goes to show how he doesn't keep his word.

You're absolutely right. I liked John McCain. I thought he was a bi partisan senator who could do wonders for this country. But throughout his campaign, he gave in to his party. He selected Sarah Palin as his VP so the conservative base would stick close to home. He began to think more about himself than the country. He slammed Obama week after week, without any argument as to why he's better, or what he plans to do. It cost him your vote, and mine as well.

While I'm not a McCain fan....I don't agree with anything Obama wants to do...and I doubt it'll be beneficial to the US either. Socialized more medical care is not the answer. Making the military and the country more vulnerable is not the answer. Allowing partial birth abortion is not necessary and certainly not allowing medical treatment for babies that survive partial birth is nothing more than infancide. Taxes WILL get raised...it's necessary with the spending the last administration did. Increasing government spending means even more tax money is necessary.

I wish there was a third choice.:(

Yup. I really wanted a moderate GOP candidate and McCain was perfect. The Palin choice was the first shovel mark digging his grave (election-wise...not because he is old :P)

I always said that this would have been a better line of attack than obamas so called friends. however, i think it was needed and a smart thing for obama to do. he is right; the system is broken. the idea is to level the playing field, but since the rnc & dnc can still advertise for them, the dem's were always at a disadvantage. the rnc always has more cash since they have big business in their back pocket.

Do you know what socialized health care is? Making sure people have health care at the taxpayers expense is exactly what socialized health care is. And for the record....the states should be responsible for making sure children have the health care and NOT the federal government. Pennsylvania already has a program in place...and I dare say we are not the only state to have done so. So then.....this would be an empty campaign promise for the most part.

You must not have read my post thoroughly since I STATED taxes will be going up.

are you a billionaire corporation? no you're a cure fan on a videogame message board

making health care more accesible will hit big coporations and the incredibly wealthy but they'll make things easier for middle class and low class people who are forced to rely on greedy insurance companies to provide them with basic healthcare

the irony of it is that you'd benefit greatly from these plans if one of your relatives was to fall ill, if only you were smart enough to realsie it

I'm posting this here, because of the stifling pro-Obama atmosphere on this forum, which prevents me from giving this bombshell the proper exposure:

This is must-read stuff for anyone who saw Obama's primetime infomercial. Seems Obama's spin doesn't match the facts. I'm surprised the liberal AP is exposing Obama's lies. Better late than never, right?

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081030/ap_on_el_ge/fact_check_obama_ad

No wonder McCain is now trusted more on the issues of taxes and the economy.

With a few days left and the economy showing no signs of turning around, the Obama camp must be very worried about this. I don't think the vague spin offered on primetime is going to help, especially with the mainstream media finally calling him out on his lies. He didn't offer anything new last night. Specifically, he didn't name any specific programs that don't work that we must cut. Why give the reins to a man with no plan?

I'm feeling good about the election right now. How about you?

You totally missed the point of my comments.

But since you want to argue...how about some specifics instead of the generalized terms used to explain the healthcare. My relatives all have healthcare.....so that attempt at an insult failed.

No, the rules aren't the same for everyone else, and the sooner you and the other liberal moderators (all of them, as far as I can tell) realize this the better it will be for everyone. It's not that hard to be fair when playing make-believe cop on a video game board. Try harder.

So what are you going to do when Obama wins?

[QUOTE="mysterylobster"]I'm posting this here, because of the stifling pro-Obama atmosphere on this forumEngrish_Major

I deeply apologize for requiring you to abide by the rules everyone else has to abide by. :P

I said earlier that I would have no reason to post here if that catastrophe happened.

So you really would not come here anymore? (don't want that to sound negative, just asking)

It's pretty sad when you have half of the Gamespot population tired of you posting the same thing. You even have a Moderator saying that's all you do. I think you need to either find another forum or actually dig up some facts that will help McCain win, b/c your not helping yourself or McCain.8)
