Pearl Jam blows. Led Zeppelin is the best band on the list followed by the Stones and AC/DC in that order.

Pearl Jam, but there are quite a few bands that are a lot more overrated than anything on that list.

Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, and Stone Temple Pilots were also competing with Nirvana and Pearl Jam.......... And SG, AiC, and STP are all waaaaaaay better than both Nirvana and Pearl Jam combined.

Actually now that you mention SG, yeah I agree. Chris Cornell is very underrated.

Rolling Stones for me, but that's more preference really. It would be either them or Pearl Jam.

I'd say Led Zepplin is the most over-rated, but Pearl Jam is definitly the worst on the that list.
IMO Rolling Stones > Led Zepplin > AC\DC > Pearl Jam

Edit: Can you really call Pearl Jam over-rated at all? When have you ever heard somebody call Pearl Jam great?

AC/DC no question. Dem same 3 chords. The first 40 seconds of Hell's Bells is the best music they ever wrote, by far.

I was once visiting a friend in Tennessee, and he had a friend who described himself as the biggest AC/DC fan there is. I asked him to list as many great songs as he could off the top of his head. He threw out 15 songs, including the obvious ones (Back in Black, TNT, Dirty Deeds, For Those About to Rock, etc.), and at least a few that I didn't recognize, but I took his word that they were great AC/DC songs. When he was done, and had listed 15 songs, I said, "you know they've put out 14 albums, right? 18 if you include the ones only released in Australia. That makes for an average, by your own count, of less than 1 great song per album." He stopped talking about AC/DC for the rest of the night.

Pearl Jam is also pretty crappy (maybe even worse than AC/DC), but I hear a lot less people claiming them to the be the "greatest rock band of all time", than I hear people making that claim about AC/DC.

I like AC/DC but they are far overrated. Their music is fun to listen to, but not much else, and I couldn't listen to large quantities of it in a short period of time.

Rather not sound like an elitist prick so I'm just going to say AC/DC wasn't my cup of tea.

Pearl Jam.

I have no reason. Just that I know some good songs from the other three, but not Pearl Jam.

Pearl Jam sucks big time.AC/DC is my favorite band since I was ten,and I am now 38 years of age. There is nothing overated about AC/DC or Led Zeppelin.AC/DC is on there 40th year as global dominance. They still come out with no.1 hits. The band don't come out with as many albums like they used to for the simple reason the band members are getting to old for what they perform.Angus Young still moves better on stage and with more energy then alot of 20 year olds.If you don't like AC/DC,THEN AT LEASTE GIVE THEM THE RESPECT THE BAND DESERVES.They have coming out with great Rock'N'Roll for 40 years.

I remember a time when determining which bands were over-rated seemed really vitally improtant. Then I turned 14.

Led Zepplin is the only band on that list whom I really don't like ANY of their music, but at the same time their influence on music is undeniable and there was SOME talent contained in the band.

I guess I would say ACDC even if I like some of their songs. Thing is they are one of the most redundant bands around and every single song I hear of theirs sounds very familiar to the rest. They also have the most BORING drumming EVER! I mean, we are talking about Meg White level percussion there and as a drummer that's kind of a big deal....

Definitely Pearl Jam because ACDC, Led Zeppelin, and The Rolling Stones are actually entertaining to listen to.

AC/DC easily.

I think one of the best qualities a band can have is the ability to reinvent themselves, and AC/DC has sounded the same for over thirty years.

AC/DC.  Zep and the Stones are legitimately amazing, Pearl Jam is probably overrated but still damn good, but AC/DC are mediocre and they get treated like rock gods.  I can't think of another band that only uses fifths and solos with about a five-fret range, and stays in one key for practically every song that got as much acclaim as they do.

AC/DC by far. Although I don't really like Led Zeppelin or The Rolling Stones, I can still see why people would find their music to be good. AC/DC, on the other hand, is just bloody awful. And they're not even the "so bad it's good" type of bad. AC/DC is just bland, boring, repetitive garbage that all sounds the same. Literally, all their songs are the same chords but in different order. To top it all off, it's sung by a man who's smoked so much that they needed to cut a hole in his throat, and that's where his sound comes out of when he sings.
