It's that time of the year again. College Football is starting as well regular season NFL football. Which team you guys are going for? Any predictions?
Well, my college is going to a new conference. This should keeps things interesting.........

Don't care much about college football, but I think the NFL season this year is going to be a lot more interesting.

IMO, College football is much more exciting than the NFL. That atmosphere at a College game is just fantastic.
Also, coaches don't have the same players to deal with for years on end like in the NFL, which can make the games even more unpredictable because the new recruits have to adjust to a new system, whereas in the NFL the same player has been playing in the same team and a system for years on end.
[QUOTE="thegerg"]What makes this thread "official"?Ring_of_fireit's in caps The second the NFL's legal dept gets wind of this thread, TC can count on a cease and desist+summons
I like the NFL, but I just don't get college football
-my college doesn't have a football team, so id feel weird about rooting for a school that I've never even been to
-The defense sucks. The scoring is way too high, too often it seems like there are just defense laps where someone goes for like a 70 yard run for a touchdown.... But thats just how I feel after what I've seen, Ill admit I haven't really watched a TON of it or anything but enough to know I don't really care for it.
Those are essentially two guys that are supposed to "kill." How do you figure that those two doing what is expected of them to make your team set? Is it really that good aside from (what I assume to be) your top two picks?I dont have a favorite team. Im just in for the fantasy football. I need Drew Brees and Adrian Peterson to kill and my team should be set.

Sorry didn't make that clear enough. I meant more interesting than last NFL season. Also the reason I don't like college football is because to me they seem to have more blowouts and I prefer low scoring football games much more than high scoring.[QUOTE="taylor888"]Those are essentially two guys that are supposed to "kill." Im not totally sure what you are saying but usually the QB and the RB generate the most points, and being two of the best in the league at their positions I should get a healthy amount of points from them. I also need the Giants defense to excel, a lot of points are made from them too.I dont have a favorite team. Im just in for the fantasy football. Just got back from the Texas game. The offense was spotty at times and the defense gave up too many big runs up the middle. They need to improve a lot to beat BYU next week.chathuranga
That one should be a good game.
My Red Raiders were killing me in the first half down 10-9 to TEXAS STATE of all teams, the 50-10 win was very satisfying though :P Last year Tech had HORRIBLE second half production, so hopefully it's a sign of improvement in that regard.
I'm still reliving the epic 4th-quarter and OT comeback win pulled off last weekend by my Syracuse Orange. That was encouraging.
On the NFL side, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see the Packers repeat this season. I'll be rooting for Donovan and the Vikings, but man did the Pack and the Saints both look good last night. Well.. at least offensively. :P
Packers' D might need some work, especially against the pass, and I'm always fearful for their specials teams, but they looked good otherwise .
I don't know if we have enough receivers, though.

Boo....Texas. (j/k) :P
Every time we played you guys we came SO CLOSE to beating you guys....it became frustrating. :(
But you guys having a losing season and NOT making it to a Bowl game made up for it. :P
Great is the opposite of how I would describe that game.Wow! Great game between the NY Jets VS Cowboys. Epic come from behind by the NY Jets. Eventhough I am not a Jet's fan, great come back from behind, especially on the 10th anniversary of 9/11.

Actually, I think he's one of the bajillion Packers fans. Why didn't you like it?
Go Notre Dame Ftn Irish... Go Ole Miss Go New York Giants Go Indy Colts Go Miami DolphinsEasports48
Love me some Michigan, Texas, TCU in college. Michigan and UT still undefeated at 2-0.
Dallas and New England in NFL. Hardcore Dallas fan and I pull for New England secondarily because of Tom Brady of Michigan.
Can't wait to see Michigan beat Notre Dame in prime time on ESPN tomorrow. Should be great.SF_KiLLaMaN
Best finish to a game ever. GO BLUE

rofl, not in the slightest.Of course no one came out looking good in that game. But the Jet's were 14 points down and they managed to get the W. Which is all that matters.

Did you actually watch the game? Neither team came out of that one looking good.
It was a battle to see which team could make the least amount of horrific mistakes.cybrcatter

That's why both teams have to improve. But a W is a W, either way.
