If you've been following the news, Turkey is really ticked that the PKK (Kurd extremists) seem to be using Iraq like the Taliban uses Pakistan. The PKK has been attacking Turkey then running into Iraq to hide. Now the Turks want to chase them into Iraq with their army and have massed 60000 troops on the Iraqi border.

Bush is desparately trying to talk them out of going in. This is ironic because when Isreal went into Lebanon after Hamas, they gave the same reason as the Turks and the Bush administration supported them.

Yea, I was watching the republican presidant candiate thing, Its obvious that the US wouldnt want Turkey interfereing, because if they do, and they lose alot of money and troopers, guess who they're going to blame it on for starting the war in the first place. Bush doesnt want further problems, and thats understandable.

Look at it this way....

Taliban/Al-Qaeda attacked the US and then the US invaded Afghanistan and thats no different to Israel invading Lebanon because Hamas attacked them. Turkey is only invading Iraq because the PKK keeps attacking them, so i say the Turks should go in and fight back.

Yeah, I don't see any irony there whatsoever. Are you suggesting that Bush should allow Russia to attack the Kurds, reversing much of what we've been doing there the last 5 years?

The only difference is that the terrorists that attacked us aren't Iraqi. They were Saudi... Now, if Saudi's attacked Turkey and we were in Saudi Arabia, then you might have an argument.

The problem with this is US has said their main enemy is AQ, they are going as far as arming some of the extremists over there.. Whats to stop the US government from arming the PKK by agree temporarly fighting AQ, then a few years down the road using it on Turkey again.. If I were the Turkey government I would not trust the United States government one bit after showing that they will support one extremists/militant to fight another.. Did you know that we are now arming Saudi Arabia?

I'm serious. He is indeed very brilliant, I believe he makes himself seem goofy with his "Is our children learning" comments in order to take the attention away from other things he's been doing.

Brilliant but manipulative, nontheless.

Do a little research...it's a completely different political situation. Turkey going in is not the only solution, and it's certainly not the best solution. President Bush knows this. Why don't you leave the criticism to people who actually know what they're talking about.

Yeah, go Turkey. Nothing quite like invading a mountainous region in search of terrorists on their home turf. That always works well....

umm..what do you mean sometimes? thats exactly their intent. We ( the U.S.) and other countries need to stay out of it.
