Sweet, I'm totally gonna hit that. I hear it's a bit clunky, but whatever, I was on facebook when people were saying it was never going to touch myspace. Plus I use other Google products like gmail and blogspot, and facebook has become a balancing act between friending relatives and getting *****ed at, or not friending them and getting *****ed at, so circles sounds perfect for me.
Oh, and I think Mark whatshisname is a pretentious douchebag, so ditching facebook in itself is a plus.
I call BS, I'm 17 and it says I'm too young to use it.Blacklight2
Then I'll pass, as I'm sure many other people will as well... Maybe in a year or so if it's anywhere near as popular FB is now, and I actually have someone to talk to, I might get one.
Just made one for the hell of it.
Probably won't use it, figuring I hardly ever use Facebook and respond to comments on my wall.
meh, I'll stick to facebook. Only a few of my friends got google+ and they can barely figure out how to use it... let alone why they would want to leave facebook for google+DJ-PRIME90
What do you mean? It's almost a carbon copy of facebook except for circles and hangouts.
Me, I'm loving it. Two things I hated about facebook, one being the family members bothering me nonstop even though I didn't want to add them. Guess what? Circles. The second, when facebook turned every interest I had listed in my profile into something that would spam my ****ing wall nonstop. With G+ you can follow famous celebrities (though there aren't many yet) and get crap like that, but keep it in a seperate cirle so your wall isn't full of spam.
A friend of mine said that google plus lets everyone close to you know what you google. Considering the odd things I google ("Can ferrets really eat chocolate?"), I'd rather that stuff stay secret. It may not be true though, but either way I'm slow to embrace new social networks. I mean, I did stick with Myspace until early 2009.
you know, i thought google+ was going to get more popular than facebook because several months ago, there was lots of hype and everyone was saying "i want to be on google+!" but nobody has said anything about it for awhile now and i don't even remember the last time i logged onto my google+ account, so i'm going with it being kept in the background while facebook continues to reign.

I know, right? It gets rid of teenagers. If GameSpot did the same, we wouldn't even need moderators.

And then most of Gamespots traffic in forums would be gone.Maybe some, but it lowers administrative costs and may lure more adult users to this site, increasing ad revenue. All things considered, it could be a net gain. Regardless, it would be a much better site.

It gets rid of the "protect the children" mentality embraced by the Draconian ToU.

Yeah, but that kills your other point: Advertisement revenue. You can't have your cake and eat it too, son.
Addendum: It still frees us from this Puritanical code.

Maybe, maybe not. Think of the children is always the rallying cry for censorship, but as soon as children are removed from the equation censorship proponents generally don't give up. You'd still have the people that conduct personal attacks, use slurs, and walk a thin line between threatening and just being overly aggressive. Some people can take that, but I think OT traffic would significantly drop off. Anyways, there are a couple of alternative forums that lack the draconian ToU. Some do it successfully, some not so much, but either way CBS or whatever parent company owns them (is it still Paramount) is probably still going to favor increased traffic with a ToU over a niche forum without one.

Nah, dude, the Catholic Church alone makes billions upon billions of dollars each year. God's way richer than Mark Zuckerberg, only Mark Zuckerberg actually works for his money.
Same, Facebook is enough for me.I'll stick with facebook for my social networking that I don't ever use. :P
