Nobody is the greatest at anything when it somes down to something as personal as musical taste.

Its too bad half of GS users can't stand Radiohead because if you give them a chance, you might like it. Granted they aren't the best band ever, but its pretty good music if you overlook all the praise they receive (which is probably part of the reason why GS people can't tolerate them).
Film-Guy
I don't think many people here hate bands that get praised. Many bands get praised and they don't get hated here. It's called a different opinion:P
Didn't post that popularity was the main reason why certain bands are chewed out :P
subjective opinions are ludicrous. radiohead is objectively the greatest band of all time.
i was stuck on the subway today and this totally lame like jock kid was standing there and he was listening to some obnoxious like "gangsta" rap or whatever and i was in a really bad mood so i just tried to turn up my music - httt, of course! - and wait for the train to keep moving again but i just kept waiting and waiting and as "we suck young blood" started i looked around and realized just how silly everyone was and how pointless everything is and i was starting to feel bad and it felt like i was like IN the song, y'know, like everyone in the train was some like ghost chorus shuffling along and clapping but just when it was starting to get to be really bad and i was feeling like all i wanted to do was get home and get under the covers and listen to "mad world" and eat candy, well, by then "the gloaming" was ending and JUST when the train started moving, "there there"'s drums kicked in and suddenly we were moving along and i just realized that no matter how ****ing stupid everyone else is there will always be people like thom who understand what it's like to be different and i just don't think any other band can like transmit that feeling to nearly the same degree!
that is absolutely ridiculousradiohead is objectively the greatest band of all time.

I have mixed reactions towards their albums:
Pablo Honey - Meh
The Bends - Masterpiece
Ok Computer - Masterpiece
Kid A - Boring
Amnesiac- Boring
Hail to the Theif - Pretty good
In Rainbows - Fantastic
I don't think they are the beast alternative band ever, there are many alternative American bands from the 80s that are better. But I will say they are one of the best modern bands.
They're not metal.. idc xD
Creep is the only radiohead song I like and sentenced covered it:

I don't think they're better than The Cure or Depeche Mode, but yes, they're one of the greatest alternative rock bands around.
I've only actually heard OK Computer, and it's good, but I can't make it to the end without wanting to listen to something more cheerful to be honest. Reminds of that Father Ted episode :P.
OP, why dont you start a topic on "ladyi've got an extra genital" , her vids
are getting millions of views, must be the most epic sound eva right?
Yes, they are the greatest band around today/thread.
Pablo Honey-Okay.
The Bends-Flawless
OK Computer-Brilliant
Kid A-Masterpiece
Amnesiac-Prime
Hail to the Thief-Out Standing
In Rainbows-Superb

Incorrect. Also, what's the point of doing this if your ratings are all different verbs with hazy meanings?
Pablo Honey - Awful
The Bends - Good
OK Computer - Great
Kid A - Great, their best.
Amnesiac - Good
Hail to the Thief - Good
In Rainbows - Good
Kid A > OK Computer > Amnesiac > In Rainbows > Hail to the Thief > The Bends > Pablo Honey
Only Kid A, OK Computer, and Amnesiac are essential.

First off my opinion is empirical fact once it is uttered or written, secondly "hazy meaning", look up the definitions, they're pretty standard, and that's what I meant, I for one think those adjectives express my opinion better than an ambiguous "good" or "great" rating. All the albums are essential (yes even the less than stellar Pablo Honey) because you couldn't have Kid a without OK Computer, and so on. Also your listing is out of order, its goes like this...
Kid A = OK Computer > Amnesiac = The Bands > Hail to the Thief = In Rainbows > Pablo Honey

I'm not really sure what alternative means. i think most of the bands I mentioned are alternative but they all sound pretty different. Do you mind if I ask which of the bands I mentioned do you like the most:P
Alternative tends to have a lot of sub genres. Anyway, those bands are the ones I like most on your list. Hard to pick one....bolded my top five I think.:P1. Super furry animals

People should really adjust the term alternative; there are so many bands that fit under the term that it's impossible to know what to expect.

Really? I definitely would have thought you would have Julia Cope right up there on that list!

What did you think of The Super furry animal's last album Dark Days/Light Years? i thought it was very good. Much better than Hey Venus which was a bit too poppy. I loved the random German rapping during that song Inaugural trams:P
I disagree, but I'll concede it isn't that ridiculous a thing to say.
My pick would be The Hold Steady.
I love Radiohead... but I hate their electronic albums. Amnesiac and Kid A were just painful to listen to, in my opinion. But I like the direction they've taken with their last two albums. It's a nice compromise.
Still... greatest alt-rock band? Hmmm...
These guys would like to have a word with you ;)
