Ok the 60's, 70's, and 80's all had distinct cultures. What set the 90's apart?

50s- the stereotypical American Family, you just tell when something is form the 50s

60's-hippies, marijuana, own style of music, different fashion style etc.

70's- disco, more distinct music, Star Wars, afros, different fashion style etc.

80s-chessy music, mullets, parachute pants, tie-die colors, another diff. fashion style etc.

Different forms of Rock and Roll prominent through 60s-80s.

90s?

I just cant see anything that set the 90's apart, no cloths style, music style, etc. Sometimes you cant tell if a cloths style or movie is even from the 90s.

Rap music, grunge, pogs, neon colored clothes (early ninties), Micheal Jordan, the internet taking off, and plenty of others. The 90's were lame, but had it's share of cultural fads, icons, trends, etc.

It was all about dramatic movies, corny kid's shows such as the power rangers, the emerged ninja fad. More accurately I just saw it as a cross between the 80's and this decade.

The 90s in the US will be known for:

  • The introduction of anime (DragonBall Z anyone?)
  • POKEMON (needs its own catagory)
  • Power Rangers
  • Guy bands that split apart
  • Britney Spears (and in the 00s also)
  • Nickelodeon shows (as stated before)
  • Rise of political correctness
  • Emergence of rap
  • Bill Clinton scandle
  • Everything LAME
  • I guess it could be refered to as "the cheesey 90s"

Alternative rock and rap. I didn't really pay attention to the clothing styles. I guess it was mainly t shirts and jeans.
