Cool glad it got passed.testfactor888Because of the imminent threat of Shariah law taking over Oklahoma? I thought conservatives favored small government and less nonsense legislation

Many Muslim countries can't or don't want to even consider banning Sharia law.
The question is, why?
The question is, what do third world hell holes have to do with Oklahoma? There's a joke somewhere there.
And here it is:
All holes should stick together! Har Har Har

Cool glad it got passed.xaosBecause of the imminent threat of Shariah law taking over Oklahoma? I thought conservatives favored small government and less nonsense legislation I am not a conservative. I like the idea that it passed because it shows what people in the state feel about the Islamic religion and their views are not far off from mine. They are rejecting its principles it would seem and I like that
Islam and Shariah law are two sides of the same coin, perhaps it's a repudiation of Islam as well.

If so that's very disappointing to see hate become legislation. Sharia and Islam are full of hate. Passing a law that rejects it seems like the sensible thing to do. Were you aware that the US is a secular state?
I am not a conservative.rragnaarI'm not trying to put you on the spot, but why do I usually see you espousing conservative viewpoints most of the time if you aren't a conservative? I am a Libertarian who leans to the right a bit but I am not a Republican. I just really have a strong hate for the Democrats lately even though the only election I have voted in I voted for Obama.
You should know by now, from your moderation history, that making broad statements about religions gets you into trouble here. Saying any religion is full of hate is going to result in moderations. I'm sure you've noticed a pattern of making those statements and being promptly moderated for them.Ok, ok, Islam is a beautiful, peace loving religion with not one law or belief that is hateful.

Even if "rejecting their principles" is in no way affecting people's lives in Oklahoma but its giving Muslims a hard time? for example thanks to this ban American Muslims might not be able to marry under Sharia in Oklahoma for one.Well I don't really believe in marriage so that idea doesn't effect me but I can see your point in that regard. I feel people should have the freedom to do what they please I was just making my decision as I really am not a fan of the religion. That is kind of an ignorant view point on my part (I admit and I am sure anyone who replies will be like duh). Regardless I take back what I said and leave myself undecided on the whole matter as I can't take away my biaskrazy-blazer

I'm sure you've noticed a pattern of making those statements and being promptly moderated for them. I've noticed that being PC is the safest way not to get moderated.Sharia law is the closest thing to what is called civil law in countries with Latin jurisdiction e.g. France, Italy and the Middle East or Contract/Property and Family relations law in countries with Anglosaxon jurisdiction as the US and the UK. It does not tell muslims to go and blow themselves up. It's a law in which matters as civil and family relations are regulated in accordance with the quran and sunnah. It also lists the rights and obligations of people as muslims.
I'd like to point out that Sharia law isn't implemented in most of Arab and Islamic countries. Heck the country which claims to completely go by the Sharia law doesn't really excute it. Their laws are far from being dervied from Islamic sources so what if secular countries in the west? An example of Sharia law, in Islam, there's such thing as Al-murabaha in banking system where the bank takes a fixed interest as profit when loaning money. An interest going up gradually with every period of time is strictly forbidden in Sharia law as it's seen as taking advantage of someone's need for money.
They also banned use of any other international law by their judges. This is a very good thing. America is not governed by the rest of the world; it is governed by its people.
Aren't there other religions that are allowed to apply their own laws as long as they're within the boundaries of the US legal system, e.g. Jewish law? Just wondering if that's be outlawed too. If it exists that is. Which I think it does...... Otherwise this is a completely pointless question...
Just like Christianity has doesn't have bits in the bible about stoning women or setting bears upon children. Lets just agree that saying any one religion is "hateful" is ridiculous. If you want to argue various Sharia based cultures are intolerant, go ahead. I'll just discuss the Army of God and the WBC in response.Ok, ok, Islam is a beautiful, peace loving religion with not one law or belief that is hateful.

This is embarrassing for our state. i voted against this, but I knew it was going to pass. If you've ever been to Oklahoma you would know why.
As a british citizen I have been to oklahoma, its beautiful but some of the people are so backwards and narrow minded, almost made me feel as if I was in TexasThis is embarrassing for our state. i voted against this, but I knew it was going to pass.
I believe that is covered under the establishment clause. Wasdie
Which technically makes Sharia Law illegal anyways. It was a pointless bill passed in Oklahoma.
However Sharia Law needs to be looked at carefully. Europe is starting to feel extreme political pressure from the Muslim communities. It's one thing to practice your religion, it's another to use it as a vessel for political gain. And yes, this applies to those extreme right wing christian nuts in the USA.
We've seen what pure Christan governments are like. They are bad... very very bad. We can also see what a state controlled by Sharia Law is like, it is also bad... very very bad.
I thought we would have learned by now we need a firm separation of church and state. This applies to all religions equally. This is all I am saying.
stop trying to imply that all Muslim communities/countries practice Sharia Law. thanks!
As a british citizen I have been to oklahoma, its beautiful but some of the people are so backwards and narrow minded, almost made me feel as if I was in TexasThis is embarrassing for our state. i voted against this, but I knew it was going to pass. I agree. Oklahoma just gets less publicity because of our smaller population/cities.
