Cigarettes should be banned in America! No exceptions. No other circumstances.wiifan001:lol: Good luck with that.
No. Its also the problem of the people who are around them when they smoke. Ie: passive smoking which is more harmful than actual smoking. Anyway I dont know to what degree Obama will restrict smoking, I am just making a point.who cares if they smoke. its there problem anyways

Which matters, why exactly? That's Ironic since Obama himself is a smoker.

as a smoker, I have no problem with this.
quitting is hard without a reason to quit outside of "youll die in 50 years instead of 60"
if someone forced me to quit, hey, thats fine.
That is my personal thoughts on it. Out of principle, though, this is a very horrible thing to do
*clicks link* Urgh, no thank you. *suicide* If people want to smoke, let them. They can do whatever the hell they want with their body. Although smoking in public areas is another matter, since second hand smoking (apparently) kills, and is really annoying.Mochyc
Its a good thing, no more 2nd hand smoke. easy for you to say since you might be a addicted smoker yourself who spreads you wind of cancer around to infect others. selfish smokers are selfish.
Cigarettes should be banned in America! No exceptions. No other circumstances.wiifan001Naw, because then everything else that's bad for us will have to be banned as well. Fast food gives you cancer. Artificial sweetener gives you cancer. Inhaling microwave popcorn gives you lung cancer. People should have the right to damage themselves in whatever way they choose. It's part of being an American. ;)
He's trying to ban something he himself partakes in? That's not Irony?Snipes_2I dont see the problem unless you are implying that he will make everyone not smoke except for himself. :?
He is not banning it to scold the US citizens for smoking, but to (at least typically) create healthier conditions (in public places I assume).

IF he quits along with everyone else then sure, whatever. As of now, he is still a smoker trying to ban other people from smoking.[QUOTE="EmoDepress777"]

from my experience -people who quit will go back to smoking 9 out of 10 times,in 6 months top. the size of the criminal industry that will be created over-night with the illegalization of cigarettes is staggering.as a smoker, I have no problem with this.

No, I said if he quits then whatever. I see a lot of Obama-negativity and people clinging on the most ridiculous observations to spread some more.
If we are to criticise him, lets do it for something thats is actually important.

Well, seeing as this has to do with Smoking Laws....How is saying it It's Ironic that a smoker is trying to ban smoking a "Ridiculous Observation"?[QUOTE="EmoDepress777"]

Sure you are spreading it still. Where do you think 48 percent of the smoke go? you think it disappears in your house?Yes wind of cancer cause the smoke pollutes the air.

Lol, I have been saying it is Ironic (Poignantly contrary to what was expected or intended: madness, an ironic fate for such a clear thinker.) that he smokes and is trying to ban smoking. I have made up my mind, I said if he quits smoking with everyone else then it would not be Ironic. As of now, it is.HEre's what I've been saying:
That's Ironic since Obama himself is a smoker.
He's trying to ban something he himself partakes in? That's not Irony?

In Response to "I dont see the problem unless you are implying that he will make everyone not smoke except for himself."
there's a trade off most things though. the sun also gives your vitamin D at much higher amounts than pills. and that vitamin D helps prevent cancer and other disease as well. EMF fields can cause cancer but we're not a society that can function without electricity. as for chemicals, we regulate most and have limits on safe exposure. there is none for smoking though.there are still plenty of things out there to give you cancer.

Some people come home from working hard all day and all they want is a beer and a smoke. What is so wrong with that?
GET IT THROUGH YOUR THICK SKULLS- SMOKING ISN'T JUST A PERSONAL CHOICE WHEN IT'S EFFECTING THOSE AROUND YOU!!!!!
In the description of the video. This statement bothers me. Second hand smoke is one the most blown out of proportion situation ever. People act like if they get a little bit of smoke in there face, they are going to die from cancer and its just **** ridiculous.
One more point, i think its stupid to want to ban everything you don't like. I don't like listening to hip hop but people around me sing or play hip hop so technically it does affect me but i'm not going to cry about itor try to ban it.
True. I wish people would mind their own business.who cares if they smoke. its there problem anyways

But the law is not yet in place. Therefore you shouldnt expect him to cut smoking NOW. Therefore its not ironic. Please Log In to post.
