amen to that.
the place I got it a t here in town, it cost 12 bucks. I was getting it mostly for the bacon vodka, out of curiosity.
But what I got was:
A bacon-infused drink who's base was made from fresh heirloom tomatoes, fine vodka, fresh ground pepper, and it had a giant stalk of celery and a skewer holding three ping-pong-ball sized olives stuffed with blue cheese, separated by tightly-coiled bacon strips.
It really was a meal
mrbojangles25
what about that drink is revolting?
high-quality vodka infused with bacon; salty, sweet, and smoky
fresh tomatoe base; sweet and acidic, and very refreshing. A good acidic contrast to the rich bacon vodka
fresh-ground pepper to complement the smoky bacon, and to add that spiciness bloody mary's are known for.
And finally the garnish of plump green olives stuffed with Maytag Blue Cheese, skewered along with bacon and a stalk of wonderfully crisp celery
Again, I ask...what is so wrong with this drink? Perfect thing to wake up to on your day off when you got friends in town.
I swear to god I've never heard of someone dropping bacon on their bloody mary , let alone cheese and celery. The only scenario I can imagine it is if you're in a hurry and you have no time to finish your meal , and you're drinking a bloody mary , then you drop your meal there lol.Oh and the revolting part is that I hate each and every ingredient of the drink haha , but that's just my taste. But seriously talking I googled it is apparently more commom than I thought.Guess you learn new things everyday.

My favorite Bloody Mary from this place down the corner garnishes it with oil soaked mushrooms, mozzarella cheese curls, 1 shrimp, 1 spicy sausage, blue cheese stuffed olives, and celery.Apples with lime juice. It's more common where I live, but a lot of people have never tried it. When I first moved here, I had Takis (or even Hot Cheetos will do) with nacho cheese in the bag. Soooo good :) I'm pretty sure that's not unusual though. Chico's Taco's is practically a delicacy as well :P

Its not odd to me either. I remember though I mentioned it once in OT and people were like "WUT?"[QUOTE="Rikusaki"]Is that like Lentil soup? It doesnt look much like lentil soup imo. The beans in that photo are quite spherical while lentils are more flat and round.Mung Beans!

This is lentil soup:
Not the most beautiful image of lentil soup I could find but that shows the shape of them better.

It's a very crude generalization, but it seems like it's more of the norm to europeans than them americans..Poutine is every bit better. :P I wouldn't think they would sell poutine in Greece, but if you find a place that does, buy it and eat it. You won't be disappointed.Oh another great combination that I have mentioned before and people cringed is mayonaise on fries.
Also fries with feta cheese.

The closest thing I've seen to this is fries with grated cheese and bacon bits on top.

Another good recipe (for pasta this time, preferrably cheese tortellini) is: diary cream, gouda cheese and bacon bits in the pan. Excellent pasta sauce. Not for those with cholesterole obviously. :P

Or 10 yr old scotch + ice + glass.
Other weird mixtures:
Buckley's cough syrup + table spoon. Hell, I'll drink it straight out of the bottle.
Neopolitan ice cream always seemed weird to me.
And mixing cut up strawberries with muddled (fresh) sprigs of mint is pretty good. Anything with mint mixed in is pretty good actually.

fair enough
but to be clear, youre not dripping bacon into the vodka. Or cheese into the drink.
The bacon essence, the flavor, is extracted over time, so its not like youre chugging fatty bacon-vodka...it just taste like vodka. and the cheese is not in the drink, it is in the garnish.
I understand we all have different tastes, that is both a source for new discoveries and for disagreements...but I strongly encourage you to try combining various flavors and foods in your life. Just the other day I tried combinging Jarlsberg swiss cheese (thinly sliced) with green grapes, and it was amazing.
