Blind statement? Hardly. I've used dozen's of other players, and out of them all i would take iTunes all day long.

Oakfront

ok if you have tried them all, please tell me makes itunes, in your opinion, better than mediamonkey, foobar 2000 , and winamp, write up a statement for why it is better than each program individually, and what is wrong with those programs, what features they dont have that itunes does. im awaiting your reply

I'm not going to sit here and state every single thing i dislike about different programmes as i don't have the time, but why i like iTunes so much is because its good looking, smart, easy to use, good sound quality and everythings well organized. Just on a whole i feel in my opinion its the superior programme.

Sound Quality is more dependant on the file type/bit-rate and the type of speakers/headphones you are using.

Well I use an iPod so no choice... jensen_slipknot

If you use ipod headphones it won't matter, the quality of those suck so bad you could have HD audio files and it would be a tinny mess.

Are there any good headphones(in-ear) for a decent price?

whats your price range bro?

I have some Philips in ear headphones that I got at Best Buy for $30 that kill iPod Headphones. Not the best headphones ever and you could find better at a higher price, but for $30 they beat iPod headphones.

I like itunes because I have all my music stored in it. This is perhaps a curse to some users, but really, I'm not bothered, the sound quality is fine with the right speakers. As good as a CD. That is all I ask. I don't live in some crazy world where I need CDs to burn in two seconds, and I don't need something that runs super quick. Itunes has an easy interface, and looks organised, and that is really all I ask of it.

For a real album experience, when I really want to listen to an album, I will have it in front of me, I'll play it on its original CD, I'll listen carefully to it. Music on the computer is just for background, for casual listening. For serious listening, accept no substitutes for an immersive CD experience.

sorry but that cop out just convinces me even more that you havn't used anything besides itunes. id say nice try but it wasnt

Believe what you will, at the end of the day it's my opinion, and i believe that iTunes is better than what i have previously used (Windows Media Player, RealPlayer, Media Monkey etc.) and admittingly no, i havn't tryed Foobar 2000 nor Winamp. Having said that, i may try out Winamp to see how it is, as from what i've saw, although i maybe wrong,Foobar looks extremely similiar (The interface) to iTunes.

I use Bose in ear headphones (I know, hate me) and they produce excellent sound quality. They might be a little out of your price range, but the difference is incredible.

Sure Vs Denon, both very good and well respected companies, one is 51$ and the other is 55$ . i would suggest you do some research on both and find reviews / what ppl say about them and see which would suite you the best. but for the price range those are the two i would look at.

According to my Last.Fm account

#1 - Sun In An Empty Room by The Weakerthans (22 spins)

#2 - Used To Get High by The John Butler Trio (22 spins)

#3 - Keep the Car Running - The Arcade Fire (21 spins)

And I still like iTunes, even if it is a beast of a program.

I believe it is "Give It Away" by RHCP with 36 plays

MarioRPGer
Nice! Gotta love that funk rock. Anyways my siblings are always on my itunes so the top songs on my itunes don't really represent my musical tastes. And recently my mode of music listening has been more focused on exploring and trying new things than listening to songs I really like over and over.

I liked reading the progression of this thread . . . anyway, I actually like using iTunes to manage my fairly large library.

My top played track is a WAV file of pink noise which has a play count of 12,502 times (it's 1:00 long by the way). After losing my play count information through various computer migrations the actual song with the most plays is "Once" by Blackfield at 123 plays.

This featured some rapper dude. This has a piano. I don't know about electronic music but I don't see why a band should have to cover all bases... maybe this will do. And here's the best of Fall Out Boy.

Exactly. Although sometimes the album experience works better at night, in the dark.

I use iTunes, not because I necessarily want to, but because at this point it would be too much of a pain to switch it to a different player.

Played-a-live (The Bongo Song) (Radio Cut) by Safri Duo with 23 plays, but my Library reset for some reason. :( It's an unfair representation anyway, because I listen to a whole lot of compilations and songs where I click NEXT before the song ends and registers anyway.

recently put all of my music back on iTunes... but Queens of the Stone Age's "Little Sister" is the most played with 43 plays.
