The type of change you... nay, WE can believe in. We can make a change! Yes we can!

Nah, that makes too much sense. Let's vote for him because he's black.
well now that you put it that way...

Not true at all. He has explained plenty.

Agreed Engrish,
just because you haven't bothered to read up on his policies and stances does not mean he has none.

I mean the ones he running for the presidential election on.
[QUOTE="helium_flash"]He's black. What other reason do you need?fidosim
Exactly. Affirmative action applies to the presidency too.
Please dear god tell me that was sarcasm.

At ease, soldier. I was joking but some people seem to think that way. Let's all be honest here: Obama is the probable nominee simply because of his race.

If you're naive enough to fall for slogans and demagoguery Obama is your man.whipassmt
Talk about naive...as if all the bushbots weren't naive enough to fall into the bushco. propaganda machine!

affirmative action is stupid and racist.Whipassmt, THANK YOU for that! I'm so sick of people who aren't willing to take responsibility for THEIR actions, instead they blame every problem on their race or gender or religion or upbringing. People with weak character make excuses.

I've read everyones platforms, congressional voting records, and public statements. What I'm asking for is your opinion.[QUOTE="allnamestaken"][QUOTE="SIapshot"][QUOTE="allnamestaken"][QUOTE="SIapshot"][QUOTE="allnamestaken"]You mean the ones he mugs for or the ones he actually voted for in congress? The one and definitive reason why you should vote for Obama is....

I've read everyones platforms, congressional voting records, and public statements. What I'm asking for is your opinion.Would you like me to try and convince you? I'm not going to do that. Partly because I don't want to take the time to explain Obama's policies and why I agree with them and partly because what is considered actually best for the country is objective. Personally, I would like to see his ideas put into action, his environmental and energy policies for instance. I also believe that it's time to start systematically pulling troops out of Iraq.
I have quite a list of things I agree with him on and sure their are a few I don't, but out of the two candidates I believe he would be the best president of the United States.
He can open his mouth and talk. And......umm....hold on.......I got something......damn.........I can't think of anything.....OH YEA! He enjoys having his ass kissed.Wilfred_Owen
Yea, he CAN talk... a lot more intelligently than bush "nookuler" shrub!!! He has a brain, unlike the present chimp in chief. And McStain is a clone of bush...scary.
[QUOTE="whipassmt"]because we need a theocracy.

And we don't have one now?!
Indeed, I thought you were a hardcore Christian anyway whipassmt.
lol at you using that excuse to bash Obama. Theocracy?
Yeah, let's put another bible thumping, pro-life , 70 year old white man in the house and see how long it is until we pull out of Iraq, until we see our economy **** until we see gay marriage recognized; until we stopped getting ****** in the *** by white America.
Supposedly this is the GENERATION of change, with hip-hop, "TRUTH", SNL- style comedy not afraid to PUSH the boundaries of mainstream thinking. Cool college professors who ride a skate board to class and let you talk about sex and how you got drunk last night during studies. This is supposedly a nation of baby-boomers and ex-pot head parents, who are cool and hip - yet the best half of you can come up with is throwing another old white republican in office. Jesus, talk about being naive and brainwashed. Good, go ahead, throw McCain in office, see how that works out for you. Maybe we'll invade the Congo next - or invent a car that can go 2 miles to the gallon.
Hey, in white middle class conservative christian America, anything is possible.

I'll stand down, Fido.:P
Also, I don't agree his race is all there's to it. I think it's a small portion of the reason, but I really believe the main reason he's the probable nominee because largely people are falling for his words. I admit, it's easy to get sucked into his speaches. But once you look at his voting record and his policies and those he keeps company with and all the meaningless rhetoric....you realise he's just another empty suit and no different that what we're used to.:(

Sounds just like every other Obama supporter in this thread. "he's going to change America" How is he going to change America? "He's going to change it for the better" Yea, but HOW is he going to change it for the better? "Well, he's just going to change it, go to (some website) and read about it" No cajones, no opinion, just "change" and some website. And all you can do is come up with some "what do you want me to do, convince you?" excuse. YES I want you to convince me. Can you tell me WHY he would be the best president of the United States? Or don't you have the cajones? Please Log In to post.
