Chinatown - Not sure I understand what all the fuss is about, so I'll give it another try.

I wasn't impressed with it on my first viewing either. It has since become one of my favorites. I'd give it another shot if you're up to it, but don't force yourself to watch it or anything.
Anyway:
Young Adult: Eh, it felt like it lost it's way around half-way through.
A Separation: Slow to start, but once it does it never lets up.
The Avengers: Fun while it lasted, but I have no desire to see it again.
Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance - Pretty good though I prefer Oldboy and Lady Vengeance.
Alien - Amazing, can't believe it took me this long to see it.
The Secret World of Arriety - Also really good, Studio Ghibli is in good hands.
Drive: Brilliant in every way possible
Alien: Suspenseful, well directed but a little shallow
The Avengers: Overrated in every way possible.
You finally watched it? About damntime!Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance - Pretty good though I prefer Oldboy and Lady Vengeance.

Dorian Grey-This is an amazing adaptation of the novel A Picture of Dorian Grey; it is stylish, well-acted, and subtle.
Inglorious Bastards-The film is cool in usual Tarantino fashion and was funny, but it felt pretty pointless and silly overall.
Stranger Than Fiction-This is a fairly intelligent comedy; I would would recommend it to anybody who wants something light and comedic but not stupid.
GreySeal9
I loved Stranger Than Fiction. I thought it was utterly fantastic.
As for my list:
1) The Cave - Predictable but enjoyable creature flick that never strays too far outside the lines.
2) Eastern Promises - Very good Russian mafia movie that took me by surprise.
3) Homeward Bound - I don't remember it being quite this bad...
I tend to spend a lot of time at my friend's house, and they love watching movies, so I'll just choose the last 3 I remember watching all the way through.
The Devil Inside- Had to chaparone for my friend's sister so she could see it in theaters a little after it came out, and for some reason she wanted to watch it again, and I paid maybe 20% of my attention to it, and it was just as stupid as the first time when I paid 100% attention to it.
The Incredibles- Have seen this numerous times over the years, and I can still enjoy it as much as I did as a kid, just that now that I'm older, I can nit pick at a lot of what went wrong during it lol.
The Pact- The same friend's sister that liked The Devil Inside wanted to watch some movie, and this caught her eye, and it was fairly interesting; 100x better than The Devil Inside, but scary movies don't scare me much anymore.
I like your taste ;)Wayne's World 1 - Awesome
Wayne's World 2 - Awesome
South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut - Awesome

Eternity And A Day - Memories of the past, present, and the fictional slowly collide and intertwine in a beautiful rumination of a man about to leave this world.
So Big! - A poorly compacted and fairly lifeless adaptation of a pulitzer prize winning story about the inate beauty of cabbages.
Ladies They Talk About - Unremarkable pre-code "B" movie fare which gives Barbara Stanwyck more excuses to put hypocrites in their places.
[QUOTE="binpink"][QUOTE="metroidprime55"] Did you know it's based of the Brother's Grimm version?:P
metroidprime55
Are we both talking about this version?

Mission Impossible 4: I liked the action scenes a lot.
Koyaanisqatsi: This is a masterpiece.
Spaceballs: It's a legendary movie.
Memoirs of a Geisha - had a somewhat interesting story, beautiful soundtrack, and pretty good acting. Seven - is an engaging psychological thriller that is truly frightening. Never Let Me Go - I need to thank OT for recommending this wonderfully touching story that borders on absurdity yet still remains believable and is visually breathtaking, and has an absolutely beautiful soundtrack.harashawn
I think I recommended that one (the novel is my favorite book ever), so bow to me.:P
Landscape in the Mist - Haunting but transcendent road movie lovingly wrapped in a multi-layered allegorical quagmire.
The Blue Eyes of the Broken Doll - Logically corrupt and poorly assembled Spanish attempt at making a giallo film.
Baby Face- Wonderful morally bankrupt pre-code era film that wallows in its naughtiness in properly delicious fashion.

You sound like a pretentious film snob.

Only among friends and colleagues when we're pointlessly teasing one another otherwise I'm generally open about being somebody who regularly wallows in trash cinema and can't wait for each and every new Syfy channel film no matter how low on the bar has been set. Besides...I was never smart nor knowledgeable enough in my youth to ever become a true pretentious snob so your assessment doesn't really hold much water. It might be better if you were less defensive and prone to name calling and just talk to people instead. I found that doing so makes it much easier to discover new music and movies that I might not have ever come across on my own.
My Name is Bruce: It's crap but I enjoyed it for some reason
War of the Arrows: Some cool action sequences
Ip Man: Amazingly awesome movie
Transformers: Dark of the moon - "Oh for f**ks sake" Nineteen eighty four - "A lot darker than the book." Making friends is easy - "Well, that was depressing"kris9031998
I really didn't like the 1984 adaptation.
Bridesmaids - How you should do a comedy (with a female ensemble).
Bad Teacher - How you shouldn't do a comedy... ever.
MIB3 - Will Smith.
Sh!tty movies ahoy-- I'm going through my PVR and I've recorded a lot of crap out of curiosity.

Well, i mean it wasn't amazing, plus it doesn't really fit well in a movie, i thought it was pretty decentThank You For Smoking- A superb and top-notch satire with lots of wit and humor.
Up in the Air- Great-acted film that examines life.
Our Idiot Brother- Lighthearted and funny movie, worth a watch.
The Departed - Great
themajormayor
You can't ever go wrong with the Departed, or anything by Scorsese for that matter, but especially the Departed :P.
Assassination Games (2011) - Slick looking Jean-Claude Van Damme action vehicle with very little action and thus sadly containing little to recommend.
The Mill and the Cross (2011) - Superbly realized examination of the immediate world and mindset of a man and a singular masterful painting he created.
Shame (2011) - A man realizing his passionate obsession masks his true desire all of which is gorgeously constructed and deceptively quiet in its execution.
Avengers - funny but over-hyped and overblown. Take this Waltz - Beautiful and unique.biggest_loser
Is the whole Silverman being nude thing true?

Yeah there's full on nudity in it, including her and Michelle Williams. How come people are making such a big deal about her being nude though? I didn't know she was that popular. You can read my review of the film is you are curious about it.[QUOTE="DharmaMember77"][QUOTE="biggest_loser"]Avengers - funny but over-hyped and overblown. Do you live in Canada? I read that they released a censored version there that cuts out nearly 30 minutes of the movie![QUOTE="DharmaMember77"][QUOTE="biggest_loser"] Yeah there's full on nudity in it, including her and Michelle Williams.
