[QUOTE="Blabadon"]

But does it have Incognito Mode? :P

Hexagon_777

Of course it does. :P

Operas is way better, because you can do it in tabs private and normal in the same window. I like to surf sites that I don't visit often or if searching the net in private tab mode, that way when I type in "g" gamespot pops up etc, rather than needing to type the entire address because there is 500 "g" website links. I really like opera, but use firefox for most of my surfing. Using both is a good combination I find, I always have trouble opening .pdf files in opera for example.

I have too many addons for firefox. I could never switch. Most decent features in other browsers are available in similar form as firefox addons anyway.

I've used Opera and I can strongly say that's it's a great browser.

Currently using Firefox 4 RC ( The best for me )

Chrome is an absolute no for me, I just don't like it

IE9???? Meh

Safari??? hmmmm, not bad.

when i tried chrome a long time ago it just lacked the features of firefox, which are more important to me rather than a 0.3ms faster start up time. I know it has now improved, but I am more than happy with the strengths of firefox and opera. ie9 seems an improvement, and should certainly be a step up for those not willing to try out other browsers. safari I found horrible, and seems to me like another itunes type software. I just want to get the hell as far away from it as possible.

I haven't used it in a long time. Maybe I will give it another shot.

Thanks for the tip!

Opera is pretty OK I guess. I do like Opera Mini for phones though.

Which skins do you Opera users have installed? I myself have V7-Glass, Google Chrome Grey, 11 Clean, as well as cherry aero installed. My preferred one is the latter.

Hexagon_777

I didn't have any, but I downloaded all those ones and they're quite nice. One of them allows me to click on a tab by going to the maximum height with the pointer- something I couldn't do before. I wish there was an option for that with any skin. Anyway, the only problem I'm using with Opera is how when you use clickable components fast it tries to open up a drop down menu which can get annoying, and I can't open websites in a new tab using a gesture from my bookmarks toolbar. Other than that though it's been pretty good.

I don't use mouse gestures in any browser so I can't really help you with that one. Regarding the clickable components, can you give an example? Double clicking on a word that isn't a link will have that effect, unless I am misunderstanding something here.

Like for store.steampowered.com, clicking on the 'next' or 'prev' fast will bring down a dropdown menu. Also some things don't work on that page in Opera.

My Opera love has been strong since I started using it 2 years ago. I actually think it was someone here who recommended it.

I like Opera, Firefox, and Chrome, but IE? Seriously?

have you tried IE9? it is great

Not yet, but I have read around. I will give it a go somewhere down the line but the stigma that has been attached to IE will be hard to ignore. Here's the evolution of IE so far. Not too impressed.

Those buttons work just fine! I had to go really fast to conjure that context menu. :P If some things don't work, report them to Opera. :)

Just give Opera a go already. You have until Tuesday for Firefox 4. I am sure you won't be disappointed with either. :P

I don't understand what someone could like about IE9. The tabs are clunky and slow when you move them around or open up a new one by middle mouse clicking. Doesn't feel responsive.

Bah. I don't like it anymore. I can't open background tabs with middle click, I can't set what page to open with a new tab, I can't open new tabs with the previous or next page icons. Both browsers have their pros and cons. There is no browser that has it perfect yet though (for me). Firefox feels too old, especially in how its tabs function, also it has bad performance. So really it's between Opera and Chrome.

Open tabs in background with middle click is standard. If you can't do that anymore, you have broken something in your profile. Try and reset it by going to preferences > Advanced > Shortcuts, and use the default Mouse setup

I highly recommend this extension for laptop users tho Open in background tab with longpress If you click a link for a short while, it's opened in a background tab. Ideal for laptops without middle click.

There are tons of other great extensions there too, like no ads etc. If they give you a warning about setting the userJS storage quoata, just copy the address opera:config something in the alert, paste it into the addressbar, and set the value to 500 and click save. Ads will now be blocked.

Why would you want to open a new tab with back and forward? Back and forward are for going back and forward in history.... Use the plus button to make a new tab or press Ctrl T

I use chrome and whenever I open a bookmark, I just open a new tab. I have the bookmarks bar turned off so I have a lot of screen space. It also has the best application for reading manga that I've found, so I don't think I'll switch.

I wish more websites I use supported Opera. But I got tired of dealing with the hassles and just went to FireFox. Hopefully somebody fixes something soon, because I love Opera.

Yeah it seems to be a bit glitchy or something. Tabs now open in the background when I middle click. I can't find an option that changes this, it just did though.

The first bit is nothing special, Opera can do that too. You can turn off the address bar and the tab bar as well if you wish and use keyboard shortcuts to save even more screen space! The latter bit is a different story I believe.

I feel the same way bout FIrefox, well not exactly, still a few things I'd like to be different but it's the closest to what I want in a browser I can find.

I have a few to send their way. Right now I'm noticing middle click will randomly open up either a background tab or go to the new tab.. I'm not sure if I'm doing anything to change that.
