[QUOTE="imaps3fanboy"] Not really, do people look back at listening to Rush, bathory, porcupine tree, or megadeth, and think that?blackacidevil96
Yes.
Anyway, I like American Football a lot. I'm not sure if Northstar is considered emo, but I like them a lot too.
Far from my least favorite genre.
american football is amazing. i love everything i listen to. i used to be put off by the label people give emo music. then i realized how little their opinion matters to me. i listen to a lot of emo. older emo. newer post hardcore. screamo. punk, pop punk, indie, electroindie, some synth. all my friends are die hard metal fans.
what i dislike is people who are pretentious about their choice of music and put down other bands and listeners before listening themselves
I agree I listen to many many types of music and I hate when some of my "elitist" friends hear the word emo, or hardcore and think its going to suck without giving it a try just because it doesn't contain growls. Anyway on to the point someone made about growing out of the genre, I hardly think it is that genre. 2000-2011 post hardcore is that genre, but not emo. Some people I know have loved emo since early 90s to today, so its hardly a fad. The same can be said about any genre of music though, peoples preferences change over time and I would hope they mature E.g. post hardcore transitioning into emo would be an example.
