Oh, and one more thing for those who have tried. Does that whole Dark Side/Oz sync thing really work. Ive always wanted to try it.
i hear a good few things do line up, but a lot of other things dont, its a huge coinsidence.. BUT Pink Floyd actually made echoes to match up with the end of 2001 a space oddesy on purpose.. because they were upset that they wernt asked to score it in the first place.Oh, and one more thing for those who have tried. The Great Gig in the Sky sync is pretty awesome, though that's the only one I've seen. It's on Youtube somewhere. You should give it a try if only to kill time.Oh, and one more thing for those who have tried. Does that whole Dark Side/Oz sync thing really work. Ive always wanted to try it.

Mario i ask you to listen to animals one more time, even a couple.. set aside some time to listen to the songs . completely relaxed.. appreciate the songs.. it takes a while to get over needing songs with hooks or choruses, and looping riffs, but when i learned to appreciate real prog songs, Animals became my favorite cd.. at first i didnt like dogs or pigs at all. but i fell in love with sheep.. 2 more listens to dogs and i was in love.. it took me bout 4-5 listens to echoes for me to like it.. and when i did.. it became my 2nd favorite PF song next to dogs.. my #3 is Wish you were here ( all parts)
i also love the theme of animals, its based of animal farm by george orwell.. and in a nutshell dogs are business men that stab eachother in their back, only thinking about themselves trying to get up the corporate ladder.
pigs are CEO's or other high ranking people that dont give a crap about anything else, they are slimy beings, the lowest form of life on earth
And Sheep are followers, that dont think for themselves, they are lead to their death, and are afraid of the dogs.
DRAGGED... DOWN... BY.. THE STONE...
arghh.. i have to stop listening to sepultura now and bust out animals.. its been almost 6 months :P
EDIT ABOVE ^

But it doesnt even seem like prog to me. It seems like barebones drawn-out loops with sparse lyirics.
check my edit from my last post.
when you listen to dogs dude, have the lyrics sheet out.. the lyrics blow my mind, i love them.. and also david gilmours solo's in the song KILL.. Dogs is a Song that all classical rock guitar players know.
The only Floyd albums I know are Saucerful of Secrets, Meddle, Dark Side, Wish You Were Here, Animals, The Wall and Momentary Lapse of Reason. I would rank those as follows:
1. Wish You Were Here
2. Animals
3. Dark Side of the Moon
4. A Momentary Lapse of Reason
5. A Saucerful of Secrets
7. Meddle
8. The Wall
None of them are bad albums, mind you. ;)
Thanks to nimatoad for recommending Animals. Never really bothered with the album before. Going through Dogs now. super_mario_128Cool, you can tell me how that song is tommorow.

Why hasn't Gabu posted here yet? GABU WHERE ARE YOU?nimatoad2000
I just got here, give me a break. :P
Anyway, I have a feeling I'm going to be the odd one out, as I actually prefer later Floyd to earlier Floyd:
1. The Wall
2. Dark Side of the Moon
3. The Division Bell
4. A Momentary Lapse of Reason
5. Wish You Were Here
Cool, you can tell me how that song is tommorow. Or now. Just came to the end. I enjoyed it. I don't profess to be a music critic but it got me interested. And I second nimotoad's claim on the lyrics: brilliant.[QUOTE="super_mario_128"]Thanks to nimatoad for recommending Animals. Never really bothered with the album before. Going through Dogs now. i never really felt the magic with post waters floyd.. its ok.. not bad but not meorable IMO.. i might give it another listen since i havnt listened to bell or lapse in like 2 years ..
but i'm not too big on pre meddle PF either.. piper sounds like a 5 year old wrote it, syd really was crazy.. i mean when i listen to bike i get shivers.. its like a horror movie .. it sounds more schizophrenic than sepultura's album schizophrenia itself...
anyways i like astronomie dominie, interstellar overdrive and the atom heard mother suite, then from meddle especially echoes and one of these days
have you heard Voivods astronomie domine Cover Gabu? is much better, sounds much more clear and production is great, here is alink

also if you havn't gotten the live echoes cd yet.. i can send it to you, its kinda hard to find.. pm me if interested.

i hear a good few things do line up, but a lot of other things dont, its a huge coinsidence.. Actually Rogers turned down the offer to do the music for 2001 a Space Oddessy.Who is Rogers?[QUOTE="nimatoad2000"][QUOTE="MarioRPGer"]

Typeo meant to say Roger, Roger Waters was the bassist(sp?) for Pink Floyd.

Edit never mind I read that line wrong on Wiki, it doesn't specifiy wether the band turned it down, wasn't asked, or asked but never submited music.
1. Silence 2. Flying above the sky 3. Don't get your hopes up 4. Alligators 5. Bright Side of the SunHopkins_JJoke or misread?
I know this I was jk. And as TC I think it is important to know a little bit about the band. tell that to vilot hero " ok who's the better band , metallica the godfathers of thrash metal, or slayer... just another death metal band"Lmao, yeah everyone knows Jethro Tull are the godfathers of thrash.nimatoad2000

yup jethro tull beat metallica for the first best metal band grammy. the only thing that is even slighly close to metal that tull has done is that the opening riff to aqualung is pretty heavy.
