OT, are you shy in real life?

Personally I am. I had a trouble socializing when I'm on a party. But I'm doing my best to overcome my shyness :)

So, how 'bout you OT?

Initially yes, but after a while that pretty much disappears.

I think I'm more quiet than shy. I have a problem with talking too much I think, so I try to watch out with how much I say and what I say. I end up saying nothing at all.

Yes, I'm pretty shy in real life. Sometimes, I can't even bring myself to talk to someone, even if I wanted to.

A lot of times I just don't have anything to say or nothing to add to a group conversation. Also, I'm not extremely talented at holding conversations. Oh well:?

I can be at first with people I don't know very well, it soon goes away though. I've gotten over a lot of my insecurities as I've gotten older. I really wouldn't peg myself as a shy person.

I'm not as shy as I used to be ... but I rarely make the first move to talk to someone I don't know, unless I need to for some reason. Sheena321

I wouldn't say I'm shy, I'd just say I have below average social skills when meeting new people. I'm horrible at starting and continuing a conversation with someone.

A lot of people seem to think I'm more shy than I actually am because I don't say much; truth is, if the topic of the conversation isn't something I'm knowledgeable about or genuinely interested in, I prefer not to add anything most of the time... And because my interests aren't shared by a lot of people, this is very often the case.D_Battery

I'm pretty much the same. If the topic of conversation is something I'm interested in I'll talk to people all day, but if it's general chit-chat about reality TV shows or someone's recent booze-up I couldn't care less.

Other than that I'm nowhere near as shy as I was a few years ago before I started work. I'm just a regular - if a tad quiet - guy.
