OT, are you shy in real life?

I have trouble socializing in real life.

There are days when I am the shyest person in the world, and days when I am the most confident person in the world. Today is neither but for the most part, no I am not shy.

Around people I don't know very well, then yeah. Around my friends and family? Not at all.

A lot of people seem to think I'm more shy than I actually am because I don't say much; truth is, if the topic of the conversation isn't something I'm knowledgeable about or genuinely interested in, I prefer not to add anything most of the time... And because my interests aren't shared by a lot of people, this is very often the case.D_Battery

In a way, I'm not really shy. I know how to talk to someone if I need to. However, having social anxiety disorder, it makes me very much unable to approach people in most situations.

I'd say that when i first meet people i am pretty shy, i guess it's because i have no idea what to talk to them about and when i do think of something, it turns out to be an awkward or not very long lasting topic :)

However round my friends and family, i'm very loud and seriously not shy in the least bit!

Yeah i am, i pretty much speak when spoken to, i'm glad not everyone is that way though.

I'm considered boldly offensive and too aggressive so I may seem shy but that's only to keep from offending and frighteningothers. People just find large men with a deep voice intimidating. I also tend to speak very softly because otherwise people think I'm yelling at them.

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. If there's a hot girl, hell yeah, but I try to hide it of course.

Towards people I don't know, yes. But I'm pretty easy to talk to, so if a stranger initiates a conversation with me I don't have too much of a problem socializing with them.

yes i am quite shy. im not a very social person but i try to be so i wont be too shy.

I am good with strangers, like at my job or walking around in public, but anything closer than that I tend to be really shy.

I wouldnt use the term shy, to be honest...I am just quiet and do not really go out of my way to socialize.

Yeah. I'm a shy guy around people i don't know or people i don't that well. When i get to know someone very well i then get out shyness.
