OT thoughts on Eminem

I think he talented but wayyyyyy overrated IMO. No way in hell is he the best of all time. Plus hes gotten kinda annoying to me. All he did on Recovery was **** and moan. I heard enough about his addiction and proof dieing on Relapse. I kinda fell like he sold out too. Working with Lil Wayne, Rihanna, Pink, and Nicki Minaj? To be honest, Recovery just felt kinda fake to me. The Eminem Show, Slim Shady LP, and Marshall Mathers LP were really good though.

What are your thoughts on Eminem?

I don't like rap in the first place, but I am so sick of him cause my sister listens to him all the time. My friends listen to him too and praise him. I just don't think hes that good imo.

He's still my favourite rapper even tho he has moved with the times and is working with contemporary artist.I dont like lil wayne but i dont mind him,pink was deff a good addition to that album and Rihana too(the style of the music).In conclusion i think its fair to say the old eminem is gone but the new one is also as good

There's no doubt that Eminem is a masterful wordsmith and has a ferocious delivery, but I agree, he's not the best. An I don't think his music lives up to his rhyming skills. I think Jay Z and Andre 3000 and Tupac all had the great music to back up their great rapping skills and I think Eminem, with a few exceptions, doesn't have that. I'd even say that Kanye West, in his prime, though far inferior to Eminem as an MC, makes far superior music.

And I also think that Eminem is beholden to his schtik and all the "I'm gonna kill my wife" stuff is silly. I think he even calls his penis Haley (his daughter's name). Weird.

And I think think there's some underlying racism in people who dismiss all other rappers except for Eminem. I mean, thinking Eminem is the best is a valid opinion, but to pretend that he's the only rapper with valuable contributions is just ridiculous.

I like him, his earlier songs were great to me, but his newest, eh, it's ok to bad I think.

One of the best rappers out there in terms of technical abilities, nobody can flow or cram multis like Eminem. As an artist, Kanye, Big Boi, and Andre 3000 has him all beat, but as a rapper, there's no one who could rap better than Eminem.hiphops_savior

I'd say that Andre 3000 can easily rap better than Eminem. More variety in his cadence, much more subtle use of words, much more willing to experiment with different rhyme patterns and what not.

He is almost as good as souljah boy. Just needs more practice.

I don't like rap so I don't like Eminem. His song with Rihanna is driving me crazy. I hate it and it plays at least twice a day where I work. Goddamn commercial radio! :evil:

He used to have absolutely amazing lyrics. But now he has sold out. Most of the people in this thread are right. All he does is whine and now he's all of a sudden preaching and telling people to come together in his lyrics. He wasn't anything like that 5 years ago. Not to mention his music is barely rap anymore, it's 80% singing.

Rap...Nah no way would i ever be caught listening to it. It's Metal for me thanks.

I only "know" a few of his songs...he's ok but I don't really listen to him. For a rapper, he's prettygood, imo.

I like Infinite, Slim Shady LP and Marshall Mathers LP... after that it goes downhill. I can tolerate his last two albums in doses but I'm not too big of a fan. Some of the songs were almost cringe worthy :(

back in the day i loved his songs, but now their just filled with angst and thats annoying, why am i listening to a guy who's whole album is about how his life is depressing and hard. your freaking rich dawgs
