In my opinion, the best rapper out there. I just listened to this and it just reinforces my opinion.

Honestly, the only rapper I have truely managed to really get into. While I definitely like and enjoy some good, classic rap songs like "Straight Out of Compton" and "Gin and Juice", rap by itself normally isn't my thing. I much prerfer stuff like "Bring the Noise" (One of the sickest drumbeats around IMO) and "Sabotage" where it is more like rock/metal with rapping fronting it.

Thing is Eminem is easily my fav lyricist out there and he also seems to have a great thing for getting good if simple instrumentation in his songs, so he ends up being my go-to person for rap. Not only that, but being someone who has lived in Michigan his whole life, there is a certain pride we have for Eminem here.

He really made a comeback for me too with Recovery. After not bothering with his last two albums, Recovery blew me away with how good it is. I find it absolutely ridiculous that people are claiming he sold out on the album BTW. Honestly one of the most idiotic statements one can make, considering HE WAS THE BEST-SELLING ARTIST LAST DECADE!!!

Em has evolved and it is great to see. I feel Recovery was really more a point of maturing for him. Instead of him continuing to go on about hating Kim and his mom, he has finally gone on to talk, NOT WHINE, about the struggles he overcame, how he has been feeling a distaste for and betrayed by rap, and how he has been dealing with Proofs death, which is probably what lead to him making such a great album. I feel he not only got clean, but got a kick in the ass inspiration wise after what he went through and it just took his material back up to his incredible level.

Really, songs like Cold Wind Blows, Almost Famous, and 25 To Life are among some of his best work IMO.

He's not as good as he used to be. His old stuff were amazing. Now he's just overrated.
