How do you feel about Bridge I love it, and wish I could play it more, but you need 4 players to play. Playing with 3 people is lame. I haven't had a good chance to play since I moved out of my parent's house  So, Bridge:

I hold bridge in the same esteem as I do canasta, Uno, pinochle, crazy 8s, and cribbage. I.E. not very high.

For those actually curious: It's played like Spades, except that beforehand you and your partner have to "bid" how many "tricks" you think you can make. A trick is however many "hands" you can take past a "book". A book is 6 hands or tricks. There are a total of 13 hands in a game (13 x 4 = 52) So, if you had 7 diamonds and your partner had 6, that's every diamond in the game, meaning you should, even with crap else, be able to get 7 tricks, which would be bidding 1 diamond. What's fun is no trump, or when everyone bids. You figure there are 40 points in a deck Aces are 4, kings are 3, etc. (these points have nothing to do with your ultimate score, it's just how you determine the value of your hand. You figure you want 13 points to bid, unless you're responding to your partners bid, wherein having 7 points minimum is what I remember being necessary. Wow, but I could go on.

Ah yes, nothing like a rousing game of bridge at the old parent's house to ripen the spirits.

I do say, Watson, fetch me some tea.

Bridge is too old, monopoly and risk are way better.

Monopoly is good times. It's too hard to find proper Risk opponents.

I've heard of Bridge before, but I don't think I have had an oppurtunity to play it, ever.

I guess I decided to cross that "bridge" when I come to it ;)

I've never liked monopoly, and I'm not quite sure what risk is. But Bridge is actually fun, from what I remember. Can never find anyone that wants to play though. :(

Under 9 and you double the deck. 9 thru A, all four suits, and two of each card.

Both of these are truth. Bridge is quite fun if you're playing with someone who has some idea how to play, and either no one knows HOW to play, or they don't wanna. :(

4 players, teams of two. You bid on score. Declare trump after winning the bid. Bidder's partner passes some cards to help your hand (normally high cards in trump). Bidder passes back junk cards.

Scoring happens in two phases. First phase is laying down meld (runs, marriages, etc). Rest is playing tricks. Points from meld plus points from tricks must meet or exceed your bid, otherwise you lose points. The other team gets to keep whatever points they earn.

Give me a minute to look up an appropriate "Beavis and Butthead" picture for the "wide and long" crack in the subject title...aw heck. You already said you have a good imagination in another thread. You can pretend I put up an appropriate picture. I actually don't know how to play Bridge at all. Odd since I love games of this type.
