Anyone here ever played it? Any otherworldly experiences to tell?

I played it once when I was a kid with a couple of friends out the back of my house (my folks wouldn't allow me to bring into the house). I remember it was like 10pm in the middle of January and we were sitting at a picnic table in my back yard, freezing our butts off. We asked the spirit to present itself and it referenced my charcoal grill and at whatever time, it was going to give us a "sign". Maybe it was just hogwash and maybe one of us was pulling the others' chains, but we were scared shitless...never did lift up the BBQ lid to find out.

Nope, my mother would lose her shit if she ever saw me playing with one of those XD Never even seen one to be honest...movies always make it look like an Ouija Board is a common household object, but I wonder how common they really are.

I think they are bullshit and feed off peoples subconscious. As devils advocate though, if the supernatural is real the board is like a phone, and you have no clue who you are calling, so I suggest not bothering with them anyway.

@korvus: They were common back in the 70's and 80's I think. Parker Brothers made the game, if I'm not mistaken. I never had one, but I've read up on them and there's a lot of evidence that points towards them being gateways to the "other side". I stay away from that stuff. Only positive things in my life, I don't need to be delving into satanic occult stuff.

I never touched one, but i would steer clear of that kind of stuff. I've heard a few creepy stories about them.

@jasean79: It's supposed to be a game and people use it to try and contact the dead? Always thought it was the other way around. DAMN YOU HOLLYWOOD!!

I've played it.

I think it's all too subjective. I've experienced some weird shit with my family that can't be explained but nothing bizarre like how Hollywood depicts.

I've never seen one in person or used one. Read plenty of stories about them on the internet but I take them with a grain of salt. I'm not going out of my way to acquire one and try it though.

The ouija board can contact the dead just as much as the spells on the D&D player's handbook work in real life.

A disbelief in something does not necessarily mean that something isn't real. Just saying.

There's an episode of Supernatural I think where Sam and Dean use it to..never mind, major spoilers for season 2.

Anyway, this describes what I think about how 'fun' an Ouija board is.
