What actors do you feel are overrated? For me:
Denzel "Plays the same character in every movie" Washington.
Humphrey Bogart - this guy isn't even a decent actor imo.
Shia LeBouf - idk why people like him.
Tom Cruise - i only like him in Collateral.

i just dont find him enjoyable to watch. I mean the 'Bourne' movies were ok, but they were pretty much watchable because of the fight scenes. Matt Damon's acting did very little to add anything to it. I just don't see anything appealing in him when I watch a movie with him in it. It always seems like anything good he's in is in spite of him, not because of him
Morgan Freeman, I hope he retires soonTrelaf_TheWise
woot?Woot? why? If its because he isnt in anything good anymore you should watch 10 Items or Less, I dont think Ive ever seen an actor have as much fun acting then he did in that film.
That chick in Juno... Hell I forget her name. Everybody seems to love her yet I think she is a really bad actress...Wasdie
Ugh I forgot about Ellen Page...I considered suicide during Juno.

That moive was so horrible I believe I heard a chick wanting an abortion half-way through the damn movie.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. I just hope their kids dont get into acting.Big_Bad_Sad
Well I agree with Jolie, and I dont see where the whole anger at their children come from, Ill have to highly disagree with Brad Pitt.
I can't believe you mentioned Humphrey Bogart. :|
That man has a screen presence that pretty much no modern actor could even hope to match.
As for my choices, Will Ferrel is definitely up there. The man is simply not funny. Modern day Al Pacino...sometimes. He was a great actor and he still can be, except when he's shouting every line in his raspy voice.

i don't even think he's a decent actor... terrible really. did you see the one where he played a Mexican? Probably his worst film.
Brad Pitt actually has talent unlike other stars of his type that just ride the wave of "having a hot body" (see just about any action star, ever). Samuel L. Jackson is certainly the most oversaturated, but not overrated. Denzel plays his roles too well, IMO, to be considered overrated, and besides...Training Day.
I'd say that Orlando Bloom is the most overrated. Pirates of the Carribean, Lord of the Rings, Kingdom of Heaven, Troy, and Elizabethtown. He played the exact...same...character in each and every film.

its a shame he doesn't really ACT. All his roles are the goddamn same, always the old, wise and experienced nice black guy...

you think having watched Mr. and Ms Smith makes you qualified to judge Brad Pitt's acting? Go home man...

Have you seen "The Maltese Falcon"? Or "Casablanca"? Or "The Treasure of the Sierra Nevada"? "The Desperate Hours"?
Listen, he's no Laurence Olivier. He's no method actor either. The man had a presence that cannot be imitated and he knew how to deliver lines. People praise Bogart because he commands the screen and his performances contain subtle nuances that are endlessly fascinating to watch.
When he speaks the line "Of all the gin joints, in all the towns, in all the world, she walks into mine.", his delivery is perfect. As is the cynicism when he declares,"I stick my neck out for no body."
I'm not sure what you are looking for in Bogart's performances, but it's obvious you expected something else out of him. Which is silly...as I said...people admire his performances for a very specific reason: presence.

Troy. The only film I thought he really stood out in was Snatch.Tom Cruise also.... Zero5000XTom Cruise is actually an incredible actor, even if he's strange irl. But since this is an OVERRATED thread, and no one friggin likes him, I'd say he is massively UNDERRATED.
But I'm definitely going with the Orlando Bloom. He was actually good in Lord of the Rings, but that's about it that I've seen.

yeah they do type cast him like that now. but his Oscar nominated role in "Street Smart" 1988, was one where he showed that he can play one nasty and scarey guy.
