redeeming qualities? Sure harry isnt exacly a pure cop but hes a kick ass character. The way he almost tortures the Scorpio killer is twisted but awesome and how the Scorpio killer isnt an immortal killer but a regular guy who happens to be a killer. The bus scene where the killer freaks out the kids by making them sing was pretty messed up and it had one of the best one liners ever. Also how is the nudity pointless? Its nudity enjoy it dont complain about it!

quiglythegreat

He's not a kick ass character; he shoots down people as they run away from him. There's nothing about the bad guy that's acurate of serial killers, not that they care. He could've been so creepy. This is a person who just randomly grabs a gun and decides to start taking people down. There could be creepier stuff than him making little kids sing, but the people who made this film are apparently just about as creative as Terri Schiavo in her later years. The nudity that most frustrated me was of the dead body. You aren't supposed to appreciate it, but the chick looked like she was alive anyway, so I guess it's cool.

Im sorry is there a some kind of accurate description that describes all serial killers?

Well, they generally are very cool customers. They don't get along with people; they attempt to have as little human interaction with their victims as possible. Usually they obsessively plan out how they will go through with things; this guy was really half-ass about it, which is especially abnormal for sniper-serial-killers.

he could have just been a random crazy guy that they call a serial killer, I dont see how that drags down the film. Also how is the movie racist? The serial killer is white, is it because he kills a black guy who happens to be a robber?

Film-Guy
Uh, he randomly kills people he has no reason to kill. That's a serial killer, and my point is that he wasn't very crazy other than that. And yes, that's why the movie is racist; it doesn't then have any other depictions of black people at all. I mean, I kept looking, and I may have missed one walking around as an extra, but there are no other even minor black characters in the entire movie, thus it is racist.

so a movie having a black guy as a minor bad guy makes it racist? Just because there werent any minor black characters does not make it racist. Alsothe dirty harry sequel had a black guy as the partner.

I'm probably going to be lynched for mentioning this movie, but for me, a recent example is Live Free or Die Hard. I know a majority of people enjoyed it, but it just didn't feel like a TRUE Die Hard film.

Live free or die hard was the worst die hard movie, and the least plosible and most ridiculous. The unrated DVD is pretty sweet though

I actually did a review of the unrated DVD on my blog the other day. For some reason, one of the things that bugged me (besides the convoluted plot) was the lame looking CGI blood they added in. I'd rather see it bloodless than with lousy computer effects tacked on.

that's a matter of opinion. The acting and production was very well done. I personally didn't like it either though.

Over rated? The Spider man movies got more hype than they were worth imo. So does the Scary Movie Series. There's nothing well done about the Scary movies. It's just stupid humor that involves jokes that have been over done.

Well, that's what the thread's about. We realize that we're in the minority...and in my case, I know I'm wrong. I've yet to meet another person who didn't like Raging Bull. Actually, I've yet to meet another person who's seen Raging Bull. But I probably just have to watch it again sometime. That's usually all it is with me.

I second this statement. Sure, it had some funny parts, but all the raves about it weren't equal to the actual thing, at least, to me. Not as "awesome" as most of the people around me described it.
