Ozzy can sing and write lyrics. Jackson couldn't. It's not even close. All Jackson could do well was compose beats and dance.

I am going to say Ozzy. I prefered his music and Michael Jackson just annoyed the hell out of me (not his amazing singing ablity, but his actions).

I don't know why compare two artists that are not even the same genre but I choose Ozzy Osbourne.

When sabbath started out Tony wrote the riffs and the basis of the song and Geezer wrote the lyrics. Ozzy just sang the vocal melody and he needed the other bandmates.Later on in his career he is very lucky to have talented guitarists like Randy Rhoads to make up for his lack of talent. MJ wins by far I shouldn't even have to explain it.

Michael Jackson easily.

They didn't call him the King of Pop AND induct him into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for nothing.

Does not compute. Steppenwolf was the original heavy metal band. Hell; they even coined the term. And don't forget Deep Purple.

You are a fool if you think his voice was bad. One of the best ever. Ozzy Ozbourne has some of the worst and most profane lyrics I've ever heard, and MJ has written some of the greatest songs in recent memory.

I'm sorry but why is this even an question

These guys aren't in the same genre, and this is just one of those dumb rise threads like asking "Milk or Pizza" or "Who will win in a fight of Sponge Bob or Bat Man"

Metal fans need not to judge a pop/R&B voice unless they listen extensively to the genre, saying MJ has a bad voice is a matter of opinion... but come on he can sing.

And pop/R&b fans need not judge Ozzy is you haven't extensively listened to Hard Rock or Metal(what ever Black Sabbath was)

I like both, this is not competition so I'm not choosing, the only Ozzy/Black Sabbath Song that I like is that one the Lil Jon sampled, and I think the lyrics went "Millions of people, living exposed" or something like that, was later rearranged into a lounge version(ironically) for his reality TV show.

Ozzy Osbourne. Bigger influence and I don't think you can deny that even if Black Sabbath haven't sold as many records.

Exactly what this man said. Love Sabbath and all, but in terms of ability, MJ (ew I feel dirty using those initials) takes the cake.

As good as Ozzy might be, laying the cornerstone for metal and metalheads everywhere, I have to go with Michael Jackson for laying the blueprint for music videos and beats that still sound fresh today. Ozzy is a founder, Michael Jackson is an icon on the same level as the Beatles, Elvis, and Frank Sinatra.

Um, Michael Jackson was a far superior singer.

Though I will say Ozzy fit in perfectly with Black Sabbath.

Michael Jackson was the superior talent without question, but ya gotta love the Ozman.

We were driving yesterday and that song 'say say say' with Paul McCartney and Micheal Jackson came on. My wife said, "who's this?" I told her, then my seven-year-old said, "yay, Micheal Jackson!" I said, "yeah, this song is pretty good. Micheal Jackson made this before he was weird."

A bit far afield, comparing Osbourne and Jackson.

I would choose Ozzy. At least he's upfront about his being strange and different.
