Everyone around here has and Airsoft gun, so that's all that ever gets played; it also helps that it's cheaper. So, what do they play around where you live? I assume the Brits have to default to Paintball.

Airsoft, because you can do it pretty much anywhere, but paintball is just as fun if you have the time and the money.

I play paintball cuz my parents think paintball is safer.
Is this true, or are my parents full of crap when it comes to this?
wth is that picture.
And neither, get a good BB/pellet gun and don't shoot it at people, just shoot paper targets. You can do it indoors yet it is powerful. Print targets off the internet and throw a cardboard box and a piece of wood behind it and you're good to go.
May I recommend the Crosman 760 Pumpmaster as a very good and cheap beginner choice.Yarcofin
That's a picture of the hand that was used to stop a BB from hitting my face. And shooting targets gets incredibly old after a while.
I suppose you probably won't get a paintball stuck in your skin, but a paintball has way more kinetic energy than a BB does.I play paintball cuz my parents think paintball is safer.

Thats why you wear a mask when you play[QUOTE="magicmo"]Airsoft indoors, paintball outdoors. I just hate trying to cleanup the ammo from the Airsoft guns, but I do love chasing the cat around the house with my MP5.-Sora
Get Biodegradable BBs
if he is playing inside then they won't degradeÂ
[QUOTE="shockwave04"]I like Airsoft. I love my P90 :DSir_Marwindoes it have the silencer and the scope? Sliencer yes, scope no. I want it to look like what they use in StarGate.

Paintball. For several reasons. First off....i LOVE the sting of it....i LIVE for the sting of it. I also love the adrenaline that i get from the sting and from the thought of havin to watch my ass or else ill get hit.
I love being able to see if i hit someone cause they got a big splat of yellow, pink, blue, green, red...ect on them. Helps keep it fair...cause yea, there are people who wont call themselves out. And yes you get that sometimes with paintball too....but cause it hurts worse then just..plastic pellets... you shoot them over 5 times and they start to really get annoyed and will eventually call themselves out....unless you got refs who make that much more easier.
I love the weight of the paintball gun in my hands.
I love hearing the burp of the co2 tanks and air tanks when they run out of gas...or i love setting up the switch and "pretending" to run out, making a booby trap.
I love the sweat, the dirt...the greasy feeling of the paint
I love how crappy the paint tastes..that wonderful crappy worst tasting jello you have ever eaten in the world taste!
I love how its biodegradeable
I love the welts it gives me, so others can see it and go "DAMN!" then they touch it and i just smile
I love how extreme it is compared to airsoft.
I love the cold barrell after shooting for a while from the Co2 ..heck..sometimes i just love the cold tank after i just get it refilled ...nice on the forehead lol
I love the re-inactments of D-day, the battle of Monte Cassino...heck...any war re-inactment! (easier to do with paintball in my experiance)
I love the paint gernades, trip wire mines, cannons, tanks, helicopters....
And I love the guys that I play with. We are a family.
[QUOTE="Film-Guy"]do airsoft and BB guns hurt more or less than paintball guns?xhellcatxLess. Much less. but what happened to me one time. that hurt more than any Paintball could've done
I donno my buddy shot me in the back as I was falling back with his gas sniper rifle (goes like 500 fps with .2's) and it hurt like hell....broke the skin....paintball is alright ,but there are some airsoft guns that can hurt just as much as paintball.
Personally, I prefer airsoft over paintball because it's cheaper and more realistic( atleast to me it is).

airsoft is more extreme....operation Irene!
Less. Much less.[QUOTE="xhellcatx"][QUOTE="Film-Guy"]do airsoft and BB guns hurt more or less than paintball guns?Film-Guy
my friend says that paintballs leave huge bruises, but airsoft rounds get stuck in your skin:( both sound rath unpleasant.....
Well. I will put it this way. If you go to a paintball feild..one thats regulated, you have to keep your paintball markers set to a certain speed. If its higher...it can do ...MUCH more damage. Also, if you hold the barrel less then an inch away from your skin you do more damage too...such as breaking your skin. My husband has 3 circular scars on his arms from a "friend" who thought it would be funny to shoot him that close. He bled for a while. I also had my skin broken on my shoulder once by an owner of a feild who thought he was above the rules. We dont give him any more business because of that, and give him negative props for it as well. With airsoft OR paintball, its usually a good idea to wear something at least with sleeves...moreso with airsoft to prevent the penetration of your skin.
But at looking what hurts more...I still say paintballs do, because i get hit in the shoe with an airsoft bb and i dont even know it. I hear a little 'tap' and thats all. I get hit in the shoe with a paintball and i get a charlie horse in my foot, or have to limp for a second while it stops stinging...or swear a few times cause it hit directly on my toenail. Paintballs are bigger calibur...they affect a bigger area. In comparison its like a tiny needle to a freakin huge needle. Smaller the needle, the less the pain.
This might sound like a dumb question, but are there any other kinds of toy guns that fire projectiles? I knwo there is airsoft and paintball and water, but what else is there?Film-Guynerf :?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fyd_h5nfXDALooks pretty similar to paintball scenario games, however, i doubt a LOT of them called themselves out when they got hit. We got games that go down like that too though. And another thing thats pretty cool is my team was personally invited to help train the Minnesota National Gaurd.airsoft is more extreme....operation Irene!

Listen. I have tried both...several times. And I made my decision. TO ME, Paintball is home. Airsoft to me...is like a rubber band hitting me. Paintball...is like 5 at once with a wet sticky goo that EVERYONE can see to go along with it. To me..thats awesome and helps keep thing fair.

If I lay into somebody with 30 rounds of BBs from a gun that shoots 350FPS they are gonna call it or start crying...Airsoft isn't meant to be played like paintball we play it for the sheer fun of the game not for competition...If I get hit I call myself out everytime as do 95% of airsofters just because we aren't competing for anything....Face it paintballers sold out to the mainstream a long time ago...people didn't like the idea of people with "guns" shooting eachother in the forest...so paintballers started calling guns markers and started playing inside behind giant triangles

Um not all of us sold out. I dont speedball (considering thats what your describing as selling out). I scenario play. I REF speedball and get paid for it. But refuse to play it. And to hit you with a video...its nothing too special and its not really showcasing what i really wanted ...the bunkers are just cars o_o not like other games ive played...but anyhow - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PmS8-Tir2p8 And by the way, dont ever say anything about selling out with that, cause SOME people do it for the competitive aspect.
