Nothing should be exempt from criticism, especially religions that go against human progress.

wis3boi

religion does not go against human progress, humans go against human progress

and humans created religion and its rules, therefore making your statement moot

well actually according to religion God created the religion, not humans.

[QUOTE="Monkey_N1nga"][QUOTE="Jebus213"] Nobody is abusing the term.Jolt_counter119

Well i think it is, since some guy had the balls to premier a movie in libya containing material of Prophet Muhammad and didnt think that anything was going to happen and calling it freedom of speech is pretty idiotic

I actually agree with this. Still not an excuse to act like animals though.

Obviously not but everyone knew it was coming because of their back history with things and its the way they are (some of them, the rioters). The bigger and wiser man should know the consequences and back off, not add more fire.

It's 2012 and there are people out there who will kill you for insulting their religion. That's just pathetic. This whole thing is shedding light on this.

Islam....

Funny how hindus live in a similar region yet are non-violent.

It's almost as though one religion encourages violence and the other discourages it.

You can't separate religion from people. It's subjective so how can it be? Religion can be a detriment to human progress, because humanity is where it resides.

now this angers me more then the film, we muslims are expected to tolerate this kinds of things but this guy and many rioters are doing the opposite of that. this is why westerners or islamophobics are justifying that islam is an aggro-religion.

Bad analogy, was he making fun of the other team? was he trash talking? No he was simply rooting for his team to win in a respectable manner

Just for kicks, assuming he was trash talking and making fun of the other team (which is common), would the analogy then be apt?

It's sad how those extremists act, I'm sure the film maker knew that it's gonna stir a big problem around the world so I wouldn't say he is totally innocent.

He's not responsible but he probably still knew. It's like those kids who wear glittery pants or are emo and then complain about being teased in school. Obviously that happened. Just because you can and should be able to do things doesn't mean you should be oblivious to the consequences. So fvck that filmmaker guy.

I think the middle east would get a lot less hate if the decent citizens took a stand against these nuts instead of standing by and letting it happen. It gives the impression that everyone is cool with this kind of stuff. In fact, I could just about guarantee things would change if the people of the middle east took a stand against these sorts of violent threats in a way the rest of the world could see...

Then you should never criticize any government or religion, because some people may get mad and overreact. Then that blood would be on your hands. Best to just sit quietly at home and never voice your opinion.

[QUOTE="Monkey_N1nga"][QUOTE="sonicare"][QUOTE="Monkey_N1nga"] Well i think it is, since some guy had the balls to premier a movie in libya containing material of Prophet Muhammad and didnt think that anything was going to happen and calling it freedom of speech is pretty idiotic

I was at a sports game and someone had the gall to root for the opposing team. Fortunately the fans did not call for his death despite his blasphemy.

Bad analogy, was he making fun of the other team? was he trash talking? No he was simply rooting for his team to win in a respectable manner

When have fans ever cheered in a respectable manner? People often taunt during ball games. Should they be executed for that? Jailed for inciting violence? Clearly, rooting for your team in hostile territory may "cause others to act aggresively". You shouldn't do anything that could anger others. Best to just sit there and say nothing and do nothing. Actually, best to just stay at home and not go to the game.

It's sad how those extremists act, I'm sure the film maker knew that it's gonna stir a big problem around the world so I wouldn't say he is totally innocent.

Yeah and I'm sure all those women who get raped probably shouldn't have worn all those short skirts, "She was asking for it!".

Well that's if you live in a fantasy world. I'n reality humans create religion.

How ignorant can you get, isnt this a subjective matter, who are you to judge. You are just another "E-thug" lol who i cant take seriously because you have a troll face as a display pic

I wasn't even trolling...lol. Humans create the religion. An imaginary all powerful being doesn't.

I'm loving how everyone hates this guy, simply because he's using his free speech. Yet a few months ago, most of OT was defending Terry Jones for burning the Qur'an and offending Muslims. The difference between the two? One is Christian, and American. The other, is Egyptian, and Muslim. Both offend Islam and cause death, yet OT loves the Christian one.

Absolutly terrible. I'm sickened that these people represent my country :L. But to be fair, it's an accurate representation of the poor education, and ignorance there. They should be more worried about the terrible violence happeningin their own country, not some stupid film.

That being said, there are a lot more decent citezins there, who don't get media attention, because well, they are normal.

True, but I don't live there anymore so I'm not sure how speaking out would be treated there. But you're right. They need to stop watching things and complaining and take some goddamn action
