Maybe there's this pale counter culture but tanned or darker skin is definitely more aspired too.

I would actually avoid tanning. I have a chocolate color, but it quickly turns into dark chocolate after a day at the beach.

nothing grosses me out more so than really pale skin..so pale you see the freaking veins..looks horrible..Nice tan skin is the only option for health and beauty..

Beauty...eye of the beholder. Health? That's not subjective, tan skin is damaged skin.

I'll be hitting 40 in a few years, and the girls I went to school with who always had a tan all look like they could be my mom now.
