Pantheism is really just a cute form of atheism. -Sun_Tzu-

That's basically been my impression.

Pantheism is really just a cute form of atheism. There's no substantial difference between the two - both reject the idea of a personal God, pantheism just redefines what "god" is to the point where "god's" existence is meaningless. -Sun_Tzu-
^this. I think it is just an attempt to attach consciousnesses and thus meaning to the universe.

Pantheism is just silly. What is the point defining "god" as the universe? You're just redefining god to match the description of the universe. The universe is a fine concept on its own, there's no logical or empirical reason to call the universe "god".

How can you claim to be 100% sure there is no deity? Couldn't existence count as a deity? Whats wrong with viewing the universe and it's laws of physics as a deity?

Atheists that claim that every type of theism is illogical and dumb are illogical.

I'm such a big dummy because I'm a theist!

RushKing

most likely there are plenty of other reasons too.

because in the entire history of mankind not one supernatural event has ever occurred but according to mythology the entire universe is nothing but a supernatural event and there are gods and demons and devils and such hiding behind every rock and responsible for everything that has ever happened.

fairy tales are not real no matter how much we wish they were.

mythology feeds want we want to be not the reality of what we see and experience around us.

i said mythology and that totally covers panthiesm. if you want to believe the universe is self aware or god or a giant bundt cake i really don't care.

it is still mythology that you are tricking yourself into believing because it provides you with emotional comfort.

Everyone's entitled to his/her own opinion. I've seen atheists that make perfect sense as to why they believe what they do, and have seen theists/deists/pantheists make compelling arguments as well; to each his own, I've always said.

Whatever, I believe the universe is the most divine known object ever. You cannot deny its greatness.

Whats wrong with viewing the physical reality as deity? Not much, except that it redefines deity till it looses its meaning and just becomes another word for reality :\

What about closet atheists? That's the way to do it.

No one can be sure, but faith is what it is. You can't rationalize faith. You believe it, you don't, or your in between. Just sit back and enjoy the ride. Let your faith lie where it may.

You know objectivly your keyboard isn't a unicorn, but you can't objectivly know wheather or not existance and the universe could be or part of a deity.

RationalAtheist

You're arguments are pretty, to put politely, unfounded on any basis of reality. There's nothing wrong in believing in it, just don't expect others to believe in you when you can't be bothered to provide a reasonable argument.

No one can disprove that the ghost of the last unicorn lives in my backyard. Does the inability to prove something exists make that thing true?

You're not an idiot for being a theist, you're an idiot for contradicting yourself. You can not be 100% sure that whichever god you believe in exists.

I never said is was 100% sure, that's what makes my belief more logical than pure Atheism. Pure Atheism is arrogant, illogical and doesn't promote free thought. Progress in science often starts out with thoughts outside of the realm of facts.

I've never seen atheism and agnosticism as mutually exclusive-- in fact I see them as answering two different questions. Atheism is taking a personal basis on the existence of deities (I don't believe in God) while agnosticism answers the epistemological aspects of the inquiry. Pantheism on the other hand, just defines God as the universe; making the whole concept redundant and void.
