simple Guidelines that are ill-refuteable
PC=Great for gaming
Macs=Great for everything besides gaming
FUBAR24
Exactly, I bought a 360 (my first console), and since I stopped PC gaming I bought a MAC and I wouldn't imagine ever buying a PC again... unless MAC went bankrupt or something.
I have windows installed with bootcamp just in case, haven't started it in well over 2 months
The 1 mouse button was ridiculeous... how can we forget Mac.
Etherninty
I have the most basic version of the mouse and it has 2 buttons and a scrollwheel... and side buttons too, always forget about them 'cause I dont use them... so yeah, there goes your 1 button mouse
Mac overcharges for their operating system... which is based off of a freeware OS. They inflate the price of their products, its insane. but i guess people will buy into the trendy "mac 'cult'ure"
I don't even really care for windows too much, most of the time its extremely buggy, but you can't really help it. The fact that windows has to support so much different hardware compared to mac, gives windows a bit of leway.
Windows machines are fairly easy to program on, so thats why most games and such come out for windows.
I'm using Ubuntu right now and loving it, free, secure, virus free, spyware free, easy to use OS. I only use my windows partition for zune synching. I don't even need it for gaming (WINE FTW!)

With a Mac you can feel "different" and have no virus... or not knowing it.

the only things i can think of are internet browsing and basic media playing.
That webpage was complete own. I was at an Apple store the other day and yeah I don't see the fuss at all. Why get a computer that doesn't play any games and isn't compatible with any programs? And oh yeah, they're way more expensive. It's just for rich people to show off.iusm78
what programs besides games dont work with macs? please im curious
Can someone explain to me why the Mac guy looks like the average college dropout in these commercials, and the PC looks like my dad's accountant?
I never understood this.

It makes me think that if I want a job, I should get a PC, if i want to be some slacker, I should get a mac :P

So you are saying windows is incompatible? With what? Mac Software? I run CS2 on my Quad Core PC and it cost me (Including the software) less than a third than Mac's Cheapest Quadcore computer... Document editing... I don't really know how to respond to that, but I could just say this, Microsoft Office- Access 2007, Excel 2007, OneNote 2007 Powerpoint 2007 Word 2007, Clip Orginizer and Picture Manager. I like the Windows interface, been using it my whole life.

You can feel different owning a computer that gives you minimal choices of customization?? Damn near every Mac is the exact same, so tell me again how it's being "different"? And Virus's are from unsafe surfing of the web, I've been Virus Free for a few years now...

i never said they were incompatible. but there is a reason all the largest advertising and graphic design agencies uses macs. i mean have you ever used Photoshop on a mac. its a beautiful sight.everything is soo smooth and seamless.
[QUOTE="sselliott44"]Dude,
Macs are designed to be sleek and sexy, not to perform. Why anyone would pay $1,200 for something they can get for $600 I will never understand.

Because OSX will always be a smoother, faster, overall better experiance than Windows, thats why...
Windows will always suck, until the end of time it will be a resource hog piece of ass that catches viruses constantly and blue screens whenever you need it to work
I agree that windows is a pretty bad OS, but I don't like OSX at all either (and 99% of linux distros are **** too)Because OSX will always be a smoother, faster, overall better experiance than Windows, thats why...

I haven't seen a BSOD on any of my home machines.... ever.
Windows is working to fix resource hogging with the release of their brand new kernel. Total rework of how the OS handles RAM.
The problem with Windows machines is that they make up 96% of operating systems used in the home/office. Nobody wants to write a virus or spyware that will infect only 4% of computer users worldwide.

You can't claim compatibiltiy as being a positive trait if the other OS has the same thing. Also, as far as I'm aware, I use CS2 super fluently, I've been using it for years trouble free...

What if someone is running a Quad-core @ 3.00Ghz with 6 gigs of ram @ 900Mhz with 4-4-4-12 Timing, and 2 raptor 10,000 Hard Discs? It won't ALWAYS be a resource hog, and My system FLIES! BTW Haven't had the BDoD for over 2 years, and the reason I got it in the first place was Itunes and my Ipod had a hiccup...

Let's see how your godly Mac can handle a video game.Lets get one thing straight here people.
Viruses are writen by people who, for whatever reason, have a desire to feel powerful and bringing millions of people's computers to their knees gives them that feeling.
If you were a virus writer would you want to target 5% of the population (Macs) or 95% of the population.
Macs are NOT invulnerable to virus, nor are they more stable than PCs. They're just don't apeal to hackers.

I'm going to have to side with the OSX on this argument. Its been done to death, There are much better arguments for windows other than gaming.Windows for one, didn't put a pretty UI on a free OS and then charge extra for having their pretty OS run on their machines. Windows systems are compatable with (i think it's safe to say) 100% of hardware, Macs? not so much. Linux? with some work and fidgeting, yes.

as far as i know Macs are also compatibly with almost if not all hardware. and apple created firewire which is superior to USB
