Why did Detroit pick it up at the end of second period and during the third? Wish they won, all I can think of is poor Hossa, the greed got the best of him (for switching to detroit).
Well, the first year the Pens won the Cup 40,000 people met their plane at the airport. When the Steelers won the Super Bowl last year 400,000 people showed up at their parade. I think that Pitt is now as big of a hockey city as it will ever be, so I'm interested to see the celebration. When I was a little kid I would watch the Pens lose in the playoffs and bang my head off of walls because I was so angry. The victory still hasn't hit me yet so I don't know what I'll do.
My sentiments exactly. I don't really care that much about the Pens, but the arrogance of the Wings fans irritated me to no end, and it was quite nice seeing them lose. Now let the excuses flow from said Wings fans, many of whom can't fathom the possibility that another team is on par with them.
YEAH! GO PENS! Great series, i'm a Leafs fan (look at my name) but I was rooting for the Pens in the post season and I will laugh every time I think of Hossa just like I laugh when I think about the San Jose Sharks.
Well I have mixed emotions;I wanted Detroit to win but I don't really like either team.I'm glad Hossa lost though,he chose the wrong team.Now if only Lidstrom would have shot that puck 4 inches farther to the left than he did with 2 seconds left,it would have tied the game....
I would have liked to see the Red Wings win, not just because I live in Michigan.. But because there is alot of animosity towards the Red Wings due to being a team made of mainly Europeans it seems.. And Penguins are kind of the poster child of the NHL atm, which I think is stupid as hell when ever a league has a poster child.. Just like that time a few years back when every one thought the Pistons were going to get destroyed by the Lakers..

No, he had to shoot it to the right and up more. Right were Grandma keeps the good stuff. Fluerry covered the left side of the net with his insane dive.

watched every game these playoffs, what a second season it was. As much as it pains me to see the Pens win, they were the obvious choice for the state of PA, especially since I still have an achy heart from what the Wings did to my Flyers in 1997 ;) As a diehard Flyers fan, I tip my hat on a well deserved Cup..the Pens earned it
I was sooo glad the Penguins won but did anyone notice when the game was over the announcer said "Congratulations Crosby and the Penguins". I was like wtf?? I don't think Crosby needed to be mention separately I know he is captain and all but they have never said that before.
